No smirk, no sneer, No thief

The company of the Holy Spirit, no threat, no anxiety, no need for oneupmanship, no need to bully, no need to drown the voice, no need to lord over, no need for malice, peace, patience, calm, compassion, empathy, qualities you’d come to expect, from those who believe in the eternal God, nothing complex, no ego as such.

Solomon sighed, the energy of Love, was continually lifting, it never left you feeling drained, heavy hearted or down. In times of crisis, as these times are, a lot of testing of the Spirit, is it the real one, that you have inside, or the man made version full of empty pride.

Jesus taught using stories, so as to allow as many as possible to listen, as he didn’t want anyone to be cut off from his healing words. Knowing the character of man, he saw ahead, how there would be times, when there would be those who misled the people, so he used stories to circumvent them all, it’s really simple sighed Solomon, once you listen.

Put The Phone Down…

You are taking too long on the phone, she grabs the receiver tight. I said you were too long on the Phone, she grabs the phone tighter. Your not paying for it, we are her father says, she looks at him, she it talking to her friend. Her father wants to use the phone, it’s the only one in the house. Ten minutes later she is off the phone, a pout on her face as she passes her father, whose been waiting all that time.

She is always on the phone, can we do anything to stop this, her father says. Her mother sighs, she is a teenager Jack, they talk all the time. I will get a coin box if this keeps up he says, finding no support from his wife or anyone else.

If your head is full of noise from others trying to communicate with you, how will you have time for yourself, you will spend your time trying to keep up with those to whom you were communicating with, and in the process you will lose your mental abilities, and eventually, your mind will cease to work normally. Solomon sighed, the virus could only be cured by creating space; over the years the flu had become virulent, changeable, and more deadly. Human nature had got weaker too. He recalls the mother giving birth to a daughter in her late thirties, the healthy child is born at six pounds and some ounces. The children she bore in her twenties, were all eight pounds and upwards. are we getting weaker in our selves he wondered. He recalls the prophecy of Esdras; When mother nature tires, her children become weaker.

Put the phone down, it’s all your able to do these days.

I’m a neighbor too

They,

hurry past the house, they know who lives there, the old lady is weird, they hurry their steps as they pass by. Inside their home, they bolt the doors, safe in doors, free from the world, the only thoughts, those they share with each other. The news, the story of a sickness, she thinks more anticeptic, he plans to wash more, they are a careful couple. Around the world, mortality is threatened, news of infection, not far from the attitude of those, who having wealth, are not into mixing with their poorer friends; they will only ask for help, don’t you know what they want. Neighbors.

Solomon sighed, a world threatened is a chance to develop new ways, or the return to old styles of caring. He recalled the truly great philanthropists, from the early 1900’s, the landmarks they left behind, the culture they encouraged, the gifts they gave to all, not selecting among the friends, a long time ago. maybe the new crisis, would encourage a new world outlook. Time was needed to size up the dirt that needed cleaning; did they really want their children to grow up stressed; as if they could do nothing.

Solomon recalled the night of the Spirit, the power of words that came with it; no power on earth could come close to it, amen. Neighbors, where were the borders, since we could reach out to every part of the world with our thoughts, thanks to the web.

Insight to the Corona Virus

Preparing for a journey, bags packed, you are heading down the stairs, you better hurry Jack, he misses a step, lands on the ground floor, full of energy, the energy that lifts, no need to worry, this is a time to relax, everyone light in mind, the usual worries abandoned, less anxiety better health.

She checks the window, peers into the street, has a habit of worrying. Getting older, the streets are not so safe, she watches the news, the nightly reports of crime, ensures she lives in a well guarded house, three locks on the front door, double bolts at the rear, she’d feel safer in an apartment block, with no back door.

Restriction in movement, the normal path is not safe, he takes the long way round, avoids the road block. Getting to the appointment is not easy, there is a border to cross, and it’s busy everyday, as the local inhabitants who live on the Palestinian side are made wait, he gets to his appointment on time, because he knows how to escape the patrols.

Market trader sits in his office, numb, his futures market has been wiped out and no one is keen to trade, after loosing his capital he has no place to move, the house mortgaged, who could predict the 1929 crash, and then the aftermath, while those with the means, exploited the weakness in the market and the loss of so much paper credit.

The world is running out of control, the fish are gasping for breath, the animals are moving from the forest, clean water is getting rarer by the day, children are unable to keep up their stress levels, there is a rise in depression everywhere, they need to slow down. A voice calls from the wilderness, listen to the words of the prophets it says.

The Residue

Leftovers on the table, he eyes the last two roast potatoes, if they are all ignoring it, that means none of them wants it, they taste great, he scans the plates on either side, all he can see is the conversations going on, the lick of gravy on the side of the mouth, clean it will you, it’s sticking out, across the table, a fork in the air, moving left and right, almost with the skill of an orchestral director, still he has his eyes on the prize, those last two golden crisp potatoes. Will I be brave and reach out.

What are you waiting for William she says, catching his eye, he dips his head, a smile on his face, he slowly reaches in, got you he thinks, he has one of the potatoes on the big spoon, he is moving it carefully to his docking station, his plate. No one said a thing, will he be brave enough to take the other, go for it he tells himself. Eight years old, it’s awhile before you learn about the etiquette of eating in a group. She gives him a re assuring nod, the second potato is on the spoon. You are not eating both of them another diner calls out, as he drops it onto the messiest part of the plate, where old flecks of gravy and a white sauce have mixed into a brown mulch, he does it deliberately, no one will ask for the potato back now, too late, all that residue.

Solomon sighed, we learn hopefully, we lean on the past, we see how nationalism becomes a movement of hatred, the wars across the world, home led, the same causes, repeated again and again, too much power in the same closet, time to get angry, time to get rich, we will sort them boy. The world had enough of all that argument, it was well past it’s sell by date, same as those religions, who intentionally miss quoted the old words, in order to divide opinion, and what was their residue; the incitement of hatred.

Surely they believe in God he hoped, and as such, put their efforts into rising spirits, rather than renovating old organisations.

Dot Dot Dot…

The unseen becomes life, the unseen causes death, as for Faith, it’s an invisible gift. Solomon was reading the ancient scriptures, the story of the mustard seed, and how Jesus told his apostles; all you need is a faith the size of a mustard seed, the smallest of all seeds, and when you have that faith, anything is possible. In the context of today, the worry over the corona virus, and how what is invisible to the eye, and impossible to see unless under the microscope, can be so lethal, it only reinforces the power in those original words, as spoken. Faith depends on deeds of course, as without them, your faith is mere words.

Solomon was reflecting on how the smallest bits in creation have such a huge impact on our lives; the story of the bee one more example, the plankton that the huge whales depend upon; in a nutshell what is tiny can be both life saving and life destroying; perhaps it’s another reference to the delicate nature of the Spirit, and how easily it is disturbed.

life begins from the tiniest of sources, yet carries with it the experience of other generations, as the habits molded

their in, reflect so much of life in the past; how it is possible. Then to compare with human folly; how so many boast of what is common and meaningless; amen.

Where’s The Treats…

We have to feed them, they will be expecting to get fed, otherwise they won’t come. Jesus sighs, what kind of world is this, if I was after a crowd I would have come with a singing voice, DARN, this is a lesson in eternal life not self gratification. Jesus looks up at the sky, well He says, what am I supposed to do now. His Father sighs, He’s my son, always looking for the signs.

A bread truck is on the road nearby, a lazy council worker failed to fill in a pot hole, the truck hits the rim of the tire hard against it, it bursts the Tyre. The driver gets out, shit, He has a load of fresh bread in the truck, his mobile is out of power, and he is in the middle of hill country. He decides to check out the countryside. The union does not allow drivers to do anything dangerous, such as refit a tire, it’s not in the union manual, that’s the other unions job.

The driver passes the driveway of what seems like a farm, he approaches. Knocks on the door of the shack. Jesus emerges, bunch of papers in hand. Your the Bread man says Jesus with a smile. Solomon sighed. He recalled the story of a visit to old Amo, an old friend who moved up. With God, nothing is impossible, you just have to believe, amen.

The Social Network….

God arrives on Earth, wonders at some of the changes going on, it’s been awhile. What’s new, hears about the social network, wonders how it works, what is it made up of. Has heard about individuals having millions of followers, doesn’t understand what they mean by the word followers, as the planet is not in great shape, and there are those boasting about the numbers; If you want to find out, you have to do it yourself. Decides to open an account on the most popular network out there, start at the top, face the facts, there has to be a trend setter.

Name, address, the world, post code, this is crazy. After an hour of assorted help, he manages to open an account, at last, phew, He sighs, it could be a she, Love does not discriminate. How do small children get through all this. The wait set aside, He is like a small child on Christmas day. Friends, click here, that’s fast, wow. You scroll he is told. Inside an hour, he gets a lesson in biology he wasn’t exactly expecting, and there is no limit to it either. Where does it all come from; he certainly wasn’t expecting the reception; worse than those slot machines they have in Vegas, you book into the hotel if you manage to pass the early gambling zone, well. they are like walls of cannon, ready to blast your wallet before you make into the racecourse. How can anyone avoid it.

Four coffee’s later, He is trying to get his head around it; what did they do to my Children?

Demons and Envy

Sow the doubts, create division, it’s so easy. The pharisee’s were very devout people, they were the first people of God, had the books, a line of prophets, but they were human after all. Along comes a threat, so they think, there is a power shift, same as an idol loosing the audience to a fresher act; the imagination can play strange games. In other words; how often do we stand aside for a better version of life; Jesus made it simple, the blah blah was too much, the rules too intense, they were misleading the people, they acted like lawyers, making it difficult to navigate, you have to do this on that day, this on the other day, wash like this, wear your hair like that, and it had to be male led.

Stop Stop Stop, this is doing the head, God lives in joy peace and harmony, not tied up in chains. Being a Samaritan, doing what decent people do, not those who are war mongrels, listening to the views of others, respecting differences in how you approach life, all this stuff was written 2,000 years ago and longer. Don’t you know that demons exist, and they play with your well being.

Solomon smiled, it being the anniversary of the passing on of a GREAT friend. He had moved to another orbit; but he would surely approve the words, amen. The gifts that we can pass on, rather than the baggage we hide inside us.

One Point Three Million….

That’s a lot of kidneys, eyes, livers, stomachs, thigh bones, where did they put it all, and what religion did they follow anyway!. Well, we are all influenced as they say. The pastor leading the group of children through the tour of the Death Camp, hesitated, he didn’t have an answer to the young girls question. Could he say for sure, they were ours, or was it their’s. Solomon was reflecting on the power of forgiveness, and wondered if any lessons had been learned. There were still those within the church, trying to stifle argument and learning, their ways embedded in the past. He imagined the thoughts in all the young heads, wondering if they joined the dots; What they were looking at was, the remains of extremism mixed with religious fundamentalism gone awry, aided by the growth of new technology.

Maybe if there had been more women in the upper hierarchy of the church, more compassion would exist, something the victims would never be able to find out. Solomon saw efforts to direct his thoughts, that were man made. Regardless, what had to be said, would be said, amen. In the papers, the media was hawking stories of those with influence, who had gone astray. If you were poor they didn’t intervene, unless you did something so gross, that it would be of interest to a large audience. Six million in the furnaces, 50 million overall, trying to hang individuals, seemed out of sync, amen.

When you encounter the Holy Spirit, there is no hiding place. Solomon sighed, time to admit the mistakes and hopefully learn.
