Sea Rescue

Hold on, don’t loose your faith, help will come. How those who struggle to survive hold it together, the stress each day, the hours of labor that bear so little fruit. From afar we read these stories, some of us wonder, some of us pray, some do something extra, the needs of others push us to extra lengths that we would not ever dare to tread. Struggles, the mother sighs, she is brow beaten, her little daughter looks on, knows her mother struggles, vows to do all she can do assist as she gets older, doing housework is all she can muster now, it’s her Mother after all. She watches while those without care pass by all day, the dress, the confident eyes, how they look down on her, it’s all stored inside. We need inspiration to hold on.

The news that two young women survived a trauma that was dangerous to say the least was uplifting for many who heard the news, and it was of course fishermen who came to the rescue at the death. Solomon sighed, there are those who are under the stress of the virus, and the warnings, while those who have had the means, just read about it. Nothing knew here, the gap between the least and the most is a ravine few will ever fill in, and those with that we call real power, will read reports from experts, and act on them, those who have a bit of a conscience will, hopefully more will recognize the signs. In this time of great trauma, there is the Spirit of God, it’s pouring out across the world, hang on, put your faith in the fisherman.

Solomon encountered the Spirit that brings great gifts, heaven sent, but as with all gifts, it requires a little sharing. when you have real proof of divine intervention, there is no human force that can ever overcome it, read the pro

phets, amen.

Living in Darkness

Looking in, Looking out, the shadows within, the light elsewhere, Solomon sighed, why was it important to look out, rather than focus on the within, it was very simple indeed. Those that create fear, want you to concentrate on how vulnerable you are, the threat against you, the fear of loosing, the kind of Spirit that is negative, soul destroying. Jesus reminds us all, forgive, get rid of that dark core inside you, it will destroy you from within. The demon tempted Jesus in every way, you can be the richest man in the world, you can have all that you ever dreamed of, you can control the world, only one thing, you have to worship evil. It may sound like mere words, but when you reflect on them, consider the number of tyrants in power, the number of needless wars, massive levels on corruption in some countries, you can see clearly, how some destroyed their chances for eternal living, for short term gain.

Solomon was reflecting on the actions of some he knew very well, and how there is a core of humanity that has no real belief, preferring the material world to anything else. He hoped they saw the signs that were arriving like the milk man, daily, to remind them, that the path they were on, was a loosing one, amen.

Jesus sends out the 72

They saw him lay hands, they saw him heal, they saw him bring Lazarus back to life. Apostles, chosen to promote the eternal kingdom, given the power of stamp on snakes, scorpions, and no harm came to them, in the Holy Name, he protected them. As for idols, there is only the Father in Heaven whom you should worship.

Solomon wondered about the great fear that was being spread across the earth, and the affect it was having on the Spirit, the life line to Heaven. It was written about, Esdras, said it clearly. Remain in His love, and you will never have to worry, God rescues His people.

Saint Patrick, an ode to Yeats, Behan, Oscar wilde, and a host of others, the sages of the past…..

This is pulled from the archive, it’s the National day of Ireland, so in these times of trial, lets reminded ourselves all, of the struggles we have all got through….

The world is beautiful, Have you ever thought about it, the world that is, is it not beautiful in places. We call those places national parks, so many miles of ocean across all frontiers, touching each other in special places the way the sun used to be, and still is in those extra special spaces, now we get burned frozen or flooded instead, except of course for those special places, and the bank manager we wish him dead, the women and their faces we can’t stop looking, the hours spent grooming their façade well look at TV no frowns allowed can’t you tell, a little perfume on the hips lipstick on the lips, as mothers seek safe refuge to build a nest as well, then an heirloom arrives the result of love so they said, children of course keep on watching and waiting, it’s a show they’ve already heard, Disney shows written by old pro’s words they use children in the viewfinder, they used to call it inspiration, today they ration the dead, literally and bury them live on TV, I won the lottery the dredge is no more, no smart opinions to get high on, pure doesn’t give you headaches, it kills you instead, don’t tell Santa he said.
But it’s a pity really, having tossed so much of our future away, the consequence of pure greed that the poorest will pay for instead, they’ve cut back the bird crumbs this week I heard, poor crow, shot at three times dived bombed by a sparrow hawk, a busted wing he hung on, two miles up the road and he’d be fed, earthquake on the TV, the world is falling apart, live on TV of course, you’ve guessed it CNN they are the first to call to help, world latches on cameras roll on carelessly, footage is worth more when you’re dead, no point saving the sick across the world, cant get them together like a Spielberg movie, we’ll rely on old footage. Isn’t the world beautiful he said, the luck of the Irish they always said it was worth waiting for, amen. He said if they gave up the drink, shur they could do anything, well…

I’m a neighbor too

They,

hurry past the house, they know who lives there, the old lady is weird, they hurry their steps as they pass by. Inside their home, they bolt the doors, safe in doors, free from the world, the only thoughts, those they share with each other. The news, the story of a sickness, she thinks more anticeptic, he plans to wash more, they are a careful couple. Around the world, mortality is threatened, news of infection, not far from the attitude of those, who having wealth, are not into mixing with their poorer friends; they will only ask for help, don’t you know what they want. Neighbors.

Solomon sighed, a world threatened is a chance to develop new ways, or the return to old styles of caring. He recalled the truly great philanthropists, from the early 1900’s, the landmarks they left behind, the culture they encouraged, the gifts they gave to all, not selecting among the friends, a long time ago. maybe the new crisis, would encourage a new world outlook. Time was needed to size up the dirt that needed cleaning; did they really want their children to grow up stressed; as if they could do nothing.

Solomon recalled the night of the Spirit, the power of words that came with it; no power on earth could come close to it, amen. Neighbors, where were the borders, since we could reach out to every part of the world with our thoughts, thanks to the web.

Flying Spirit

Te Amo, she turns her head, she hasn’t heard that in awhile, she’s a migrant worker, and an illegal, she is waitressing,  the cook is flirting with her again, she smiles. Meanwhile there are three tables that need to be cleared and three other girls like her, vulnerable, waiting to take her job, no slip ups. She passes a table, two men in suits, are they immigration, she pretends not to look, we ordered two coffee’s one says. She nods, rushes to the table, her eye on the two men, are they there to spy on her. Being an illegal is hard work, she has moved every six months, trying to keep ahead of the posse. She possess’s a secret, one she can’t explain, not in the normal meaning of the word; she carries the Holy Spirit inside her. Remain calm, she repeats this to herself daily, evening, before sleep, calm, you live inside me she explains. It’s as if she carries a special child inside her.

Our coffee, she passes the table, makes a nod, coming she says. It’s lunchtime, the busy period, but she doesn’t mind, there are other young girls like her, who are not that lucky. One of them dances the tables, and smiles at leering men all day, it’s a job, provides shelter, things can get worse.

She fills the cups, makes for the two men, sorry she says, setting  down the two cups. His jacket slides to the side, as if he is reaching for something, she spots the handle of a gun, law enforcement he says, sorry if I upset you, she smiles nervously. He nods. He wears a brown belt, he fingers the clasp, a sign, they are on my side, she sighs…..

Technogenics

Technogenics, well how else do you describe it. James hadn’t heard the word, it wasn’t far from eugenics, but with a technical twist. The modern world was good AT coming up with new words to explain things; there was texteese of course, the new form of short hand, twittereese, short version twitter, and there were the different ways your interests were fished; was that the right term, fishing, or was it a word used to describe theft online, hard to say, in a nutshell the more we know about you the better we can help you, or if your a robber, the more we know about you the easier it is to rob you, perspective of the thief, and in a world where, technology allows for the easy theft of resources from other human beings, Solomon thought that a NEW TERM be devised, to explain this new phenomenon; dare we say, Technogenics.

If you lose your instincts to think, you stop thinking, if a machine does all those all your thinking for you, you lose you ability to think; it’s all connected. The doomy gloomies would blame the techy companies; but wasn’t it just a case of pure laziness on the part

of the consumer, who wanted a simpler life and more time for other things?.

Human Nature

We can alter your genetic code, we can change the way you think, we can do all sorts of stuff, it’s just a case of being a spy. Clever people, the days when the water was clean, wasn’t good enough, the speed with which we communicate, wasn’t fast enough, the progress that we need, the days that could not pass soon enough, the reach for the top of the pole, human nature, have they learned anything at all.

Solomon read the story of our Genes, the history of DNA, the view some took, usually, a very rich elite, who assumed they could breed our problems out of existence, and gave so many tyrants an excuse. 2020, the rate of addictions accumulate, the reality of this, anyone’s guess, where our habits are leading us, did they ever listen to the ancient words, or the wisdom of Jesus.

Solomon sighed, if only we could slow down, stop for a week, even pretend it’s Christmas, or any other festival, how could it harm us, to slow down, before our thoughts of the next stage of progress finally drown us. Reading the old scriptures, Solomon listened to the warnings of the prophets; this world belongs to God, we better get used to it, amen.

Protected Girl

It’s dangerous outside, there are those you have to fear, we are going to keep you close to us, so will have nothing to fear. But I want to become a mountain climber she says; No NO, her parents say, listen to your father. Another dream dies, she is afraid or made afraid, no matter what direction she looks. At the end of her days, she is like her Parents, afraid of everything, the protected girl.

Solomon sighed; there were those who were worldly wise, but not wise in the real meaning of the world; their children were reared in a world which was not the world at all, more a cage. Everything was laid on, the help, special teachers, even friends like herself; they never came into contact with real people. How can you empathize, when your heart is in a splint all the time.

Dictatorships are easy to achieve.

Solomon sighed, a friend, who was learning the road, who started in the slow lane, had her confidence stolen from her. He recalled the laughter, and the fun, he recalled the times he had the parties when everyone was gone, and the life that came into the old house, and how the Spirit is revived, amen. Lucky person, don’t give up, life is today, and it’s full of surprises waiting for you, amen.

Jesus and Grief

Grief, what grief, don’t you listen, eternal life means eternal life. His followers are shocked, what sort of man can say this, how they looked at each other, has he lost his marbles. Solomon was listening to a friend who was going through the proverbial zone of misery, it was all going pear shaped, and there was no end in sight. It reminded him of the words of Ezra, and the journey of the soul, when it passes from this life. Death is not the end, as for those who worry about funerals, his remarks to those who wanted to follow him were just as curt; Burying the dead, watch the vultures gather. Solomon wondered too, hard words. Thinking about it, he tried to recall all the funerals he attended, the cries and tears of those who grieved with the deceased’s next of kin, then the laughter and the chat soon after. Within a day or two, the body in the ground was all but forgotten, apart from those near to the deceased, who grieved over their loss, amen.

Put your faith in the life eternal, treat those along the way with respect, be kind to those in need, have patience when it’s least expected of you, and you will have a happy death, amen.
