You Can’t Fake Love…..

Buy the house, the car, the dress, the loyalty, but you will never buy His Love. Solomon imagined the butterfly over the amazon, twittering it’s so delicate wings, it’s legs so fine, yet able to land on a light bulb, and sit there, without melting, or harming itself, cause it knew nothing could harm it. Imagine putting your finger on a lit bulb, your skin would melt fast, yet the most fragile insect or fly can land on anything it wants to, hot or cold, and remain unharmed. Faith, the insects knew they had nothing to worry about. Solomon read about the story of old, the power of Holy Spirit, and imagined God and the Demon playing a game of chess, the one piece that was to remain unharmed, a certain humble pawn. the outcome of the result, you can imagine, loving peace or total tyranny. Faith is that Pawn, and when it carries the Spirit of God within, the pawn, same as that butterfly, can do anything, that is according to the will of God, imagine if the pawn knew it’s immortal destiny, imagine the consequence for the rest of the game, tantalizing. But pawns, like ordinary people, are never allowed to feel powerful, they are taunted, put in fear, made to feel weak, just imagine it, if the pawn had a little education…..

Solomon sighed, you can’t fool God, as for the rest of us, lets dream on. Love that is divine, lasts for ever. So Jesus came along, and gave us an example, of the power of that pawn…

My Idols

It’s such a recurring theme, Idols, we stop at a poster, we look up, wish it could be me the young say, wish you had more experience the wise say, Solomon read the old books, the theme of Idols was a constant theme, going back thousands of years, Moses, Solomon, Isaiah, Jesus too, Islam too, all of them in fact, mention the worship of Idols, and its’ still the case today; a TV program elects a president, the habits that are killing us, none of them, coming from the mouths of the prophets. Solomon sighed; there was a sense of wonder all about, the hearts of many were opening in a  way unthinkable a few years before; it was as if the Eureka moment had arrived, as if to say, it’s all true, God exists, glory be.

Imagine the space inside you, the Space where you create the space for the loving Spirit to dwell, horror to those doused in vanity perhaps, but manna to those who believe, the living words, how wonderful to assume, without doubts, that all those ancient stuff that many wanted to pour cold water on while they exploited others, was real, what a massive headache and clean up ahead. How could God be expected to compete with idol worship, it didn’t require a science or math degree to figure this one out.

Put your Trust in God, and may your actions express that trust. Amen.

Mothers and Our World

What we take for granted, well she is the one who always hangs around, the one voice we can turn to, as if God Himself was alive inside of everyone. The miracle of birth, and there are those who claim they have been put down, it’s usually those who have had to deal with pain, the grievances that have to find a way out. Solomon reflected, His Own Mother being a fine lady, the face that you could seek out without worry or care. Those were the days, and what child was afraid to tell his or her mother anything or ask for anything. I suppose it’s why there is such worship for the Mother of the Lord, the woman who bore Him.

Today, Solomon sighed, with a few tears, how there were many little ones, afraid or made fearful of telling their mother what needed to be said, the mountain of fears poured into the general media, getting a lodging place inside very delicate hearts, it was a mute point, missed by all the so called experts. If you are afraid to tell your mother, what happens to that stuff you need to let out from inside you. The media had over cooked itself, and sowed such harm, they needed to take a leaf out of Solomon’s book of wisdom, who was and is trusted by God, every word you speak will be used against you.

Even the online world had to ask itself, had it any responsibility, or did they all play the silent game, as if they were trying to avoid the truth. Solomon encountered the Great Spirit, no boast, just a reminder to all, the Kingdom of God is inside you, learn fast, amen.

Jesus sends out the 72

They saw him lay hands, they saw him heal, they saw him bring Lazarus back to life. Apostles, chosen to promote the eternal kingdom, given the power of stamp on snakes, scorpions, and no harm came to them, in the Holy Name, he protected them. As for idols, there is only the Father in Heaven whom you should worship.

Solomon wondered about the great fear that was being spread across the earth, and the affect it was having on the Spirit, the life line to Heaven. It was written about, Esdras, said it clearly. Remain in His love, and you will never have to worry, God rescues His people.

Saint Patrick, an ode to Yeats, Behan, Oscar wilde, and a host of others, the sages of the past…..

This is pulled from the archive, it’s the National day of Ireland, so in these times of trial, lets reminded ourselves all, of the struggles we have all got through….

The world is beautiful, Have you ever thought about it, the world that is, is it not beautiful in places. We call those places national parks, so many miles of ocean across all frontiers, touching each other in special places the way the sun used to be, and still is in those extra special spaces, now we get burned frozen or flooded instead, except of course for those special places, and the bank manager we wish him dead, the women and their faces we can’t stop looking, the hours spent grooming their façade well look at TV no frowns allowed can’t you tell, a little perfume on the hips lipstick on the lips, as mothers seek safe refuge to build a nest as well, then an heirloom arrives the result of love so they said, children of course keep on watching and waiting, it’s a show they’ve already heard, Disney shows written by old pro’s words they use children in the viewfinder, they used to call it inspiration, today they ration the dead, literally and bury them live on TV, I won the lottery the dredge is no more, no smart opinions to get high on, pure doesn’t give you headaches, it kills you instead, don’t tell Santa he said.
But it’s a pity really, having tossed so much of our future away, the consequence of pure greed that the poorest will pay for instead, they’ve cut back the bird crumbs this week I heard, poor crow, shot at three times dived bombed by a sparrow hawk, a busted wing he hung on, two miles up the road and he’d be fed, earthquake on the TV, the world is falling apart, live on TV of course, you’ve guessed it CNN they are the first to call to help, world latches on cameras roll on carelessly, footage is worth more when you’re dead, no point saving the sick across the world, cant get them together like a Spielberg movie, we’ll rely on old footage. Isn’t the world beautiful he said, the luck of the Irish they always said it was worth waiting for, amen. He said if they gave up the drink, shur they could do anything, well…

The Sheep panic…

The great threat arrives, the paid men run, the shepherd soon realized, where was their trust, the parables of Jesus, replayed in real life, the ship is at sea, the winds are strong, where is your faith He Asked, didn’t you see the great wonders, how taxing it must have been, to have to remind them again and again, the Spirit of God is inside me, and it’s inside you too, you just have to create the space for it to thrive, a healthy mind, not one filled with jealousy and spite, that’s the demons daily diet, amen. You can’t serve God and Money, one will get the better of you, listen if you have ears.

Solomon read a story, the history of genetics, and the threat of virus’s, and how easy it is to manipulate such things, so simple it doesn’t even need a degree. The timing of the read, the advent of the corona virus, the vicious words used to instill fear in everyone. Don’t give up your faith, God is real, and his mercy is great, don’t panic ever, amen.

Reading from the holy books; Ezra in particular, there is so much in it that connects to these times, so Solomon read it aloud, to those listening in secret, in case they forget, there is God and there are words, that add up. As Jesus said later, it’s never too late to return to God, amen.

I’m a neighbor too

They,

hurry past the house, they know who lives there, the old lady is weird, they hurry their steps as they pass by. Inside their home, they bolt the doors, safe in doors, free from the world, the only thoughts, those they share with each other. The news, the story of a sickness, she thinks more anticeptic, he plans to wash more, they are a careful couple. Around the world, mortality is threatened, news of infection, not far from the attitude of those, who having wealth, are not into mixing with their poorer friends; they will only ask for help, don’t you know what they want. Neighbors.

Solomon sighed, a world threatened is a chance to develop new ways, or the return to old styles of caring. He recalled the truly great philanthropists, from the early 1900’s, the landmarks they left behind, the culture they encouraged, the gifts they gave to all, not selecting among the friends, a long time ago. maybe the new crisis, would encourage a new world outlook. Time was needed to size up the dirt that needed cleaning; did they really want their children to grow up stressed; as if they could do nothing.

Solomon recalled the night of the Spirit, the power of words that came with it; no power on earth could come close to it, amen. Neighbors, where were the borders, since we could reach out to every part of the world with our thoughts, thanks to the web.

Insight to the Corona Virus

Preparing for a journey, bags packed, you are heading down the stairs, you better hurry Jack, he misses a step, lands on the ground floor, full of energy, the energy that lifts, no need to worry, this is a time to relax, everyone light in mind, the usual worries abandoned, less anxiety better health.

She checks the window, peers into the street, has a habit of worrying. Getting older, the streets are not so safe, she watches the news, the nightly reports of crime, ensures she lives in a well guarded house, three locks on the front door, double bolts at the rear, she’d feel safer in an apartment block, with no back door.

Restriction in movement, the normal path is not safe, he takes the long way round, avoids the road block. Getting to the appointment is not easy, there is a border to cross, and it’s busy everyday, as the local inhabitants who live on the Palestinian side are made wait, he gets to his appointment on time, because he knows how to escape the patrols.

Market trader sits in his office, numb, his futures market has been wiped out and no one is keen to trade, after loosing his capital he has no place to move, the house mortgaged, who could predict the 1929 crash, and then the aftermath, while those with the means, exploited the weakness in the market and the loss of so much paper credit.

The world is running out of control, the fish are gasping for breath, the animals are moving from the forest, clean water is getting rarer by the day, children are unable to keep up their stress levels, there is a rise in depression everywhere, they need to slow down. A voice calls from the wilderness, listen to the words of the prophets it says.

The Residue

Leftovers on the table, he eyes the last two roast potatoes, if they are all ignoring it, that means none of them wants it, they taste great, he scans the plates on either side, all he can see is the conversations going on, the lick of gravy on the side of the mouth, clean it will you, it’s sticking out, across the table, a fork in the air, moving left and right, almost with the skill of an orchestral director, still he has his eyes on the prize, those last two golden crisp potatoes. Will I be brave and reach out.

What are you waiting for William she says, catching his eye, he dips his head, a smile on his face, he slowly reaches in, got you he thinks, he has one of the potatoes on the big spoon, he is moving it carefully to his docking station, his plate. No one said a thing, will he be brave enough to take the other, go for it he tells himself. Eight years old, it’s awhile before you learn about the etiquette of eating in a group. She gives him a re assuring nod, the second potato is on the spoon. You are not eating both of them another diner calls out, as he drops it onto the messiest part of the plate, where old flecks of gravy and a white sauce have mixed into a brown mulch, he does it deliberately, no one will ask for the potato back now, too late, all that residue.

Solomon sighed, we learn hopefully, we lean on the past, we see how nationalism becomes a movement of hatred, the wars across the world, home led, the same causes, repeated again and again, too much power in the same closet, time to get angry, time to get rich, we will sort them boy. The world had enough of all that argument, it was well past it’s sell by date, same as those religions, who intentionally miss quoted the old words, in order to divide opinion, and what was their residue; the incitement of hatred.

Surely they believe in God he hoped, and as such, put their efforts into rising spirits, rather than renovating old organisations.

Dot Dot Dot…

The unseen becomes life, the unseen causes death, as for Faith, it’s an invisible gift. Solomon was reading the ancient scriptures, the story of the mustard seed, and how Jesus told his apostles; all you need is a faith the size of a mustard seed, the smallest of all seeds, and when you have that faith, anything is possible. In the context of today, the worry over the corona virus, and how what is invisible to the eye, and impossible to see unless under the microscope, can be so lethal, it only reinforces the power in those original words, as spoken. Faith depends on deeds of course, as without them, your faith is mere words.

Solomon was reflecting on how the smallest bits in creation have such a huge impact on our lives; the story of the bee one more example, the plankton that the huge whales depend upon; in a nutshell what is tiny can be both life saving and life destroying; perhaps it’s another reference to the delicate nature of the Spirit, and how easily it is disturbed.

life begins from the tiniest of sources, yet carries with it the experience of other generations, as the habits molded

their in, reflect so much of life in the past; how it is possible. Then to compare with human folly; how so many boast of what is common and meaningless; amen.
