Believers don’t need to worry …Remember Moses, Abraham…

Easy for you to say, the words that slip from the tongue, are you able to prove it, the first words on most minds, easy for you to say. He is poorly dressed, his shoes leak, his hair is a mess, and there is only the price of a coffee in his pocket, don’t worry he says. Solomon sighed, he saw the Spirit at work, saw the anxious turn to happiness, it was the flip of a switch, come to think about it, so did Moses, but Moses always gave credit to God, he never tried to claim credit himself. Many years later, Jesus repeats the words, all glory to the Father. Those who are jealous of power and envious wondered, how can he do this; their response; he has demons in him they said. Jesus hears their thoughts, understands them better than they could possibly imagine and warns them; Dudes, you can say what you like about me, but if you dare insult the Holy Spirit, you won’t just regret it. Moses returns from the Holy Mountain, got the assurance from the Most High God, is content, this is working out he says to himself, he weeps, his joy immense, to have the approval of the eternal God, mega. Then he he see’s them back to their old ways, worshiping what’s earthly and common, same as those who judge people so quickly; not ambitious enough, you must be unwell; a child decides to serve God, had a career in front of him, what a waste his friends say. Forty years later, they ask their unambitious pal to intercede for them before God; life has a habit of turning around rather quickly. So if you believe, why worry then.

To see the wonders of God, amazing.

Write or Listen

The anxious writer is frustrated, like a junkie seeking the hit, the dealer is late, and he is getting upset as hell. He moans in front on the machine, darn, where is my inspiration, the stuff sends him into another dimension; allows a fertile imagination to go places, some light, mostly dark, where is the dealer, his nerves are at him, in frustration he thumps the table, I need my fix, shit, I will get a new supplier, frustration, he teeth chatter, he is feeling the withdrawal, he has to produce some words, he is a writer after all. Where do you go, he refuses to put words on the page, he is waiting, words, me, me, me.

To listen these days sighed Solomon, is so rare. So many want the attention, can they ever listen, the big man with the power, a junkie for attention, demands, takes what he wants, and worse than that, expects to get away with it. Where is this humility these believers are supposed to have, it is written in the books of old, a little respect. The husband who bosses the wife, sits, where is my meal, darn good cook though.

Write or listen, Solomon smiled, he heard a voice call out the Holy Name, he was heading home, to his temp abode, he laughed inside, the words of old were on many lips, and people were listening. To imagine, a gathering of folks, all sorts, listening to the prophets, wondering what Jesus was going to do next, while all Jesus did through his life, was encourage the kingdom of God, on earth. Listening is good too.

The junkie writer gets the hit, he launches into words, that will impress them he thinks. Jesus, just told the truth, amen.

The Throne Room

He shows his guests around the fabulous drawing room, it’s filled with art works that you usually see in museums, he purrs as he explains; well I bought the Michelangelo when I made the deal for the..I bought the Van Goff a year later, the guests edge closer to the paintings, they want to get the smell, it’s overpowering to be surrounded by such power, well, the art pieces are not worth fifty or a hundred million, even if there are those who will pay the price, it’s the feeling of supreme authority, the fever of power, it’s so stimulating. In the company of such a power filled human being, it’s intoxication, and Mr Power knows this too well, and now that he is getting older, showing off to his friends is one of his hobbies. Did you see the way they react he says later that night, when all alone with his butler, his wife left him for the golf instructor a few years before.

While they gurgle with excitement, each of them wanting a private audience, this man can change lives, all they want to do it is imitate him. Change lives, change my life it seems, their mantra. Imagine, the lives we imitate in the pursuit of happiness. Solomon sighed, a happy breakfast; in the company of friends, food cooked with care, and no shortage of refills when the coffee is near the end. Solomon made tough decisions in his time, but there was one decision he had no choice over, the night the Great Spirit arrived, proof of divine help, the ultimate award. The riches of this world will be coveted by others, but the riches of Heaven, will be,

a love that is shared. Old Mean bag and his trophies, would leave a legacy of resentment, nothing more, as sure as sure is, when he moves on, those left behind, will gladly spill blood in order to get their hands on those trophies.

Romeo and the Rules

Love lost and found, Milton, the bard of Avon, the dangerous journeys, the stories written into our histories, the impossible victories, the great rescues, Samson, and his last act, David over coming the odds, there is much to remind us of the highs and lows we face everyday, and so much encouragement, did they really do that.

A mother sets out with a boat load of strangers, a flimsy craft that would not qualify for insurance, the worries she feels by passed by the freedom she hopes to find. West side story, he is not good enough, she comes from a broken home, the strange ways we are instructed in wisdom. Then the faith barriers, the rules of the organisation, how we prepare for prayer, what we eat, who we see, how we engage with others, will he change his religion, it used to be a catholic protestant thing, how will they raise the children, the Indian girl who falls in love with the boy from the wrong caste, the oaths that are taken to satisfy religious practice.

There are so many barriers to love, arrangements we have to follow, until the word expands, and understanding of the meaning of love explodes, when there is finally change. So many rules, lessons, when love does not own anything at all, yet the plans we make to control it, something we don’t even own or can ever own.

Solomon had friends from many faiths, and the faith never got in the way,  not in his mind; as he said to a fellow believer; we don’t do it all the same, same as the flowers in the garden, but at our core, we have the same engine, there is one God, and love feels the same, it’s the barriers we put in the way that defines us. Romeo didn’t follow the rules.

Energy and Spirit

A good teacher does not need to use the rule book to control the class, a wise preacher does not use harsh words to frighten from the pulpit. Solomon is a listener; listening is awareness, it’s not the ideas you have in your head, it’s the ideas others have in their heads; it’s something many preachers have closed their mind to; listening to what is going on in the hearts of their flock; dishing out what and what you should not do, is not the food you give to those who are believers; you might make suggestions to the new b’s, but to those who have been around, the tendency ought to be wise encouragement.

Energy and Spirit worked hand in hand; There is a lightness of being when in the company of those who are light; even in the gravest of occasions, words of comfort are the first words you expect to hear; given the invisible nature of bad

bad Spirit and how it finds a resting place among the resentments most people carry; it goes without saying, that when you want to find your way out of the material maze, presenting a copy of the rules, while making you appear knowledgeable and learned, it wont get you out of the maze your in.

Solomon sighed, there were many giving instruction on ways of finding the Spiritual truth; the inner well being of the self and how it affects those around you, but for all the guides, there was but One God. So many signs about, they ought to understand what is happening he sighed.

Leonard Cohen, We miss your songs

As reliable as the autumn rains, he maintained his skills to the very end, poured out wisdom the only way he could, used words to stir us to action, and was soul filled, inspired so much thought, opened many closed hearts.

It is October, the season of winter approaches as we prepare for it, the clothes have changed, we wrap up tighter, there is stuff we have to do, how nature teaches us, we mind Mother Nature she keeps everything in order, we have to remind ourselves, while there are 24 hours in a day, and so many days in a year, in truth, from the moment you woke this morning, did you sleep well, whatever, in this 24/7 world so many chatter about, the strong able to take advantage of the weary and the naive, after all the future plans and schemes, is there anything but a day, in every life. Slow down, the bear needs to hibernate, the butterfly is getting ready in the husk, in a few months time it will make it’s debut, all this preparation for the changing days ahead, is it not time we listened to nature, without worrying, it’s only a day after all. Thanks Leonard, for all the evenings to filled my mind with calm, amen.

The Big Match… Music by dire straits, read all about it, the sultans swing…

Everyone is up for the game, it is all over the papers, in the heads of everyone, there is a bounce in the step, it is on the edge of domination, the thoughts in many heads, all about the big match. It will last eighty minutes, and there will be rejoicing for some, misery for others, and by the evening time, the big game will be forgotten, replaced with another Big Match, talked up, when the frenzy will repeat itself, the addicts dream.

In the middle of the joy to come, you can let the hair down, your excess’s won’t be noticed, same as your lust in those poor parts, where women are cheap, but as you open your eyes, its’ on everyone’s mind. Why are they not at the beach like the rest of us, then you remember, the big game.

Twenty per cent, probably an awful lot more, with deep seated addictive minds, and no shortage of replacements; the children can’t do without the gadgets, the parents don’t have the patience. The urge for the next hit, once you have that feeling, the big match is the cover, well, we all want to get out of our lives, when it becomes a drug, well, you are in lots of company.

Solomon sighed, how the mood is so easily changed, could be a name dropped at an inappropriate time. As for the big match, can you put yourself back to the times of the early preachers; no doctors, no hospitals, but faith in many hearts, they are all believers in the Heavenly God, problem is, it has never been fully explained, it’s inside you. Then they hear about the Healer, the testimonies, he has the power of God in him, now, that is what you call, a big match, and it lasts for ever.

Solomon, is in bed, he is contemplating, asking for help, always. There is no reason to feel proud, no one makes it alone. The air whirls, the Spirit appears, darn, this is help from the Heavens, and it’s been happening ever since.
