The Fisher King

There is no point in printing this, it’s too moral, there isn’t an audience for this stuff Steve, nobody cares when God, (he makes the sign, comma’s with his fingers) nobody cares if God arrives next week, to tell you the truth, they are more interested in what gets there Jim bobs going, or how to pay for the next trip to fantasy island, sorry, but that’s the truth. There are niche people, i’d call them weirdo’s, but i don’t want to offend you. There are other books on the table, “forty whips” and “bleed till you drain”, graphic violence titles, the agent gestures, palm open style, weary Steve gets the point, if there is  no hard core in the story no one wants to read them. It’s the sad fact he reflects upon as he walks the pavement, his first visit with the agency the last as far as he see’s it. In the world that has no place for God, anything goes, it’s a cruel world and Steve has to accept it.

Solomon watched the fisher man, he wasn’t casting uselessly, he was waiting till the time was right before he cast. It began with a few fishermen, change their tactics, a long time ago, fishers of men they became, did anyone understand what it really meant, or was it as simple as the influence we have on other lives. there was so much complications added for so many years, over a thousand years in fact, to a message that was simple, together as One we are strong. In a world of individuals, where was

yourself, fill in the blanks sighed Solomon. Don’t give up Steve, times are seriously changing, amen.

Rain Man

When will it stop, do you see how it affects us, he looked at his companion, the sky was grey, at summer time, it was supposed to be light and blue, the norm for the season. They were wondering if it was true, the stories they were hearing of divine intervention. Solomon was listening from afar, what we take for granted, what we get for free, did they not understand, life is a gift not an entitlement as some had suggested. If you use the gifts wisely and help the Spirit rise, intervention from above is forthcoming. He laid back in bed, wondering. The words of Jesus came to him, and how in his home town there were few miracles, because they just did not believe, as in doing, it was that simple. So he said a prayer, and was sure it would be okay.

He rose in the morning in a hurry, his visitor, a man of great Spirit, a race to the bathroom, a brush of the teeth, a swipe of the hair, hurry dude he said, he’s coming a long way to help you out. The phone rings, too early, not even a cup of tea, what he’s outside. He hid the thrash as best he could, this was not the start he imagined, a breakfast, a few coffees, ready. I’m outside. Welcome brother he said, do you think it will rain he said, no way sighed Solomon, and it never rained. the sun returned, just the way it always did, when support for Great Spirit was live, amen.

I’m all excited…..

She makes me forget, what else, i want to do things with her, i cut out the rest of the world, i don’t seem to have as many worries (we share them instead and i have the mother load), stuff we have in common,  hobbies you mean,….we both love drinking, and when i’m drunk she forgets it in the morning, well, she can’t remember, so this is what ye have in common asks the dating agent for the new online service, another happy marriage is touted, join swingers united.

And you miss, what is it, what brought you together, she pauses a minute. She begins to blush, he reminds me of my father, amen. The habits we pass on, i’m all excited again.

Solomon was listening to arguments, discussions, did God exit, what was Spirit, what was in our DNA, more importantly, how did it get there, lots of stuff. How did i meet your mother moment, do you want to hear the truth, what did the picture in the sky mean, did the manifested Spirit mean a closer relationship with God, how come those you pray for seem to do okay, and is God in all of us. He switched to the dating challenge, the two cuddlies on the couch, telling their story, millions more interested in that, well, at least it’s an ambition most achieve in this world, a partnership, i’m so excited.

The Vocation

Well, we have to indoctrinate you, empty your head, dump whatever is inside, then fill you with our stuff, and it takes a few years, we don’t want any loose canons as they say. The vocation, a soldier to a doctrine, no thoughts of your own, our way, and you will be disciplined if you get ideas, you have to consult us first. He scratched his head, this is a loving vocation, every commitment to a higher love, assumes constant learning, and wisdom, not indoctrination. Solomon sighed, if there was no love the vocation didn’t actually matter, be it a teacher, a doctor, a nurse, or preacher. They stole the message of Jesus, and used it as a marketing tool, while ignoring the teaching altogether. He thought of his small friend, the days they went to the monastery, and how the young boy wore amazed smiles, while discovering the peace for himself, an experience he would never forget, amen. The vocation was in everyone, it was teaching them all how to love, amen.

The Garden

The evening air, the fading light, the warmth, mid summer, sitting around a table, trees to the left, grass at the feet, a beer in one hand, a few friends around. They were meeting with a Spirit, a stranger but a friend, the power of the universe was in their hands. The words of old were lost in translation, one of them utters, they all agree. The number of wars fought in the name of God, all because of the translations. Every way you look at it, it has to be a flowing river, and it has to be allowed it’s natural course. Was he talking about the river, the words, or was it themselves. He them made a triangle with his hands, it’s this simple. We are all part of the living earth, given talents and energies, how we respond is the same plight as the gardener and the crops, it’s what you put into the experiences that decides the outcome. They looked at each other, they were all young fathers, there children’s future depended on what they did, with the garden.

The Voice

Her ears shifted up, it was the voice, there was a rhyme in her heart, it wasn’t that she listened to pure rhythm, it was the way her heart reacted, there was an ease in her stride, even if she walked in the dark, she couldn’t see, so she learned to feel emotionally, the senses. Her eyes had never been cast upon envy as the eyes do normally see, they did not see the love that was on parade, it wasn’t that she wasn’t feeling inside, it was the way she expressed herself, the gentle sigh, the call of a bird in the trees, love is never threatening, just brings along a case of sensuous anxiety sometimes, so it was to the voice she was tuned, it was how she dealt with the difficulty of sight, having eyes and being unable to see, being blind while being able to see.

Solomon was remarking on the reaction of a fried, the widening smile, and how easy it was to ad a little sparkle to any life, how the lack of threat was freedom to many, just being able to be oneself, true. There are words we want to put on situations, sometimes we can’t find them, our emotional baggage is too heavy, other times we are afraid to utter them, afraid of the reaction and how it could change something. In the cafe he heard her voice, it wasn’t the conversation, it was the way she blended her smile and words with that voice, amen. It was music for the heart, that voice.

How Far Can You Go

imagination, role models, ideals, how far can they go, the peaks of perversion were unlimited, the human mind undulating, reacting to attention, how far could they push it, did they not realize that giving energy to evil, was lighting a disaster he sighed. Then he smiled, even better, the loving hearts that could re write it, and fix it all, amen.

Global Warming

“you mean we aren’t responsible for global warming” asked daisy, who was seated at the rear of the class. it was a bunch of ten year olds, Solomon was filling in for the regular teacher, had no class prepared, the head teacher just asked him to supervise, kill the hour with them, surf the net, whatever, so long as they don’t make noise, okay!.

He sounds like my elderly aunt he thought as he walked the corridor, thinking, what would be a good subject to chat about, he was a good talker, and children love good stories. What’s in their own interests, make it personal for them, but not too personal. My Dad is an alcoholic and my mother is in rehab, how cool is that, no, not that reality, a little else, what is in the interests of children. They like animals, who doesn’t, they

like flowers, is this cheesy he thought as he entered the class. It was his first week as a newly trained teacher and he was getting used to it. Being a role model in the lives of the young was a big responsibility, they ought to pay us more he thought, his hand feeling the credit card bill he slipped into his pocket that morning, half his first weeks wages would go with it.

Mrs Murphy is sick and I’ll be taking over the hour he said.

He wrote on the board, in big letters. 70% of the worlds species are extinct or facing extinction.

Are we responsible for killing animals said daisy, whose father was a farmer, as well as thrashing the environment. My dad says you have to drill twice as deep these days to get clean water.

You are not responsible for global warning either, we are, my generation are!

so what are you going to do to fix it then asked Aaron. We can always hire a lawyer and force you by the way, that’s what they say, if they damage your prospects make them pay.  Can children take lawsuits to force the government to do the right thing regards the environment asked another ten year old.

Aaron turned around, if they can impeach Donald they can do anything. Trumpie!!

Being Responsible

We didn’t pollute the air, we didn’t spoil the oceans, we didn’t start wars, we didn’t cause anything, damn it Donald, what do you take responsibility for, Donald runs his hand threw his mop, still there he sighs, will look good

at the invitation dinner tonight. First impressions make a difference. From the top of the building there is not a chance of a flood, from the size of the army there is no threat, from the size of the 20 trillion overdraft, he chuckles at that one. No, we are not responsible for the polluted world, look, why worry, if we are cute we’ll blame the citizens of china, look at Russia he says, damn it, this is going to cost too much, can’t we talk about something else. The all present God, the consciousness of many, the voices of those is trouble, from the sewer that was created, are all wondering, when will Donald become responsible. Mother Nature cries out, the Almighty Father hears it, hears all of her petitions. Solomon sighed, we all have to be part of the clean up.

Storms turned around, weather, the chance to put things write, right, write. Did the people realize the potential of words. Solomon encountered it, and wondered why, it had not been made clearer. As the prophets of old did, we could all petition the divine True God, all we had to do was make the effort. Compassion, understanding, these were not price tags, money after all was printed with a machine, clean water, well, that was a different matter, just being responsible.

The Little Man

It’s my day, he wakes with a rush, lies in his cot, just wonders, the little tot. It’s going to be great, he knows the routine, he’s going to get a choice, he already knows it, and he just smiles from the heart, then the door opens, and there his mother stands, arms open, her eyes wide with wonder, his eyes fling wide, pick me up look in his eyes. She laughs, come on you, she carries him to the kitchen, puts the child, in his seat, puts the kettle on. The worry is over, the demon is gone. She’s found the help she needed, made the step, went across to the other side, met others who were afraid like her, and since that day, her life has been a turnaround. The escape plan of the emotional kind, is now time she can save to spend with her child, the little man. he’s seen what not ought to have been witnessed by a child, but she has forgiven herself, and her little man feels it too. The dark energy is gone, remain in the zone, and don’t go back. It’s her mantra. Every time she looks at him, all she feels is love, it used to be despair, for what she put her child through, those demons she met along the way.

Solomon was reading a story, how addiction is overcome, and the results, the new heart, that resulted. We all win when those in need get the help. Why didn’t they get to rehab sooner retorts the noisy neighbor, why do we get into trouble sighed Solomon. Maybe to remind us, that we are never alone. Solomon encountered Holy Spirit, and each time he asked for the help, it just arrived, and he didn’t have to imagine it. Amen
