Come Follow Me

Strong words, requires trust, the need for bravery, but lets stop here, the news was of another world, the ability to rise the Spirit, the ability to make well, put down your worries and leave them behind, follow me. How can you do without and still have enough, the words are a contradiction, how can they make sense, what is the meaning of the world, what is the meaning of the word, how can God live inside you, who can do that. These are the thoughts surrounding the early apostles, and early followers. What is my life without all those things, I feel better with a Jet in the car port, my pride rises, it makes me feel good, others think better of me, and you want me to give it all up. It must have been a bit of a downer, having so much of this world then realizing it didn’t count for anything ounce it was over, you life. Solomon had many plus and negative moments, made some difficult choices, same as many before. Listening to the words, give it all up for me, what can that mean.

Solomon slept in it over night, the answer was easy. The stuff of this world does not last, it doesn’t matter, it is out when your gone, what else is there to leave. Solomon recalled the names, those that inspire us deeply, the stuff that moves the soul and heart, he never saw a price tag on it though. It’s easier for the bird to fly when the load is light, amen.

Olden Times Men and Girls

Two wives, or three, it was the custom of those times, no outrage, no cries of despair, no call for rights, no culling, no extreme thoughts, this was how they lived, the blessings, the children your love renewed, gifts, Spirits that your love provided space for, how simple, no guru, no extreme master or mistress, awareness of God, the center of the Universe.

Solomon read the story of Hannah, an old Jewish tale, recounts the woes of a young married woman, a descendant of Abraham, as so many of the Universe are. She appeals to God, her prayer is answered, she keeps her word, she calls her son Samuel, dedicates his life to God, three thousand odd years, we remember him.

So the streams of understanding spread out, different groups or cults, new religions, all with the same God, just a matter of understanding, pride and power is very hard to overcome though, have you seen the fashion these days, who with no money needs reminding, how many children worry, they don’t want to appear poor, the poor everywhere treated appallingly, get real. Throw away those rose colored seeing glasses, open your eyes, are you afraid to stare, don’t look that way chuck, what she says, that guy looks like he will rob you. How fear is so easily passed.

She puts on her make up, the babysitter is late, checks her phone, hurry up molly, she has to be on the floor by eight, otherwise they will dock her fifty bucks, with another fifty for the sitter, that will cut her wages a hundred bucks. She runs down the street, hopes it wont rain, gets to the club on time.

The floor manager gives her a feel of the ass, nice dress Marcy, she hates that, how he feels up the girls, some so young, she hopes they will escape the joint. The belly is over his belt, many dinners and too much good living, has taken one of those upper pills for the lower region, wants value for money. She looks at the wedding finger ring he wears, what woman married that lump of blubber. Old men and young girls, you wonder if there is an angel or two among them?. You just have to hope.

The Calm Inside

I’ll be home tonight, the echo down the line, the pause, it’s going to be fine, the hearts will unite, and peace will be found. She hangs up. The worries of the day will be set aside. Years before, western united states, The wagon people, the wanderers of old, setting off across the wild west, seeking refuge, a new life, hope, had a few run ins with those they met along the way, the food is not great either, and a bath would be wonderful. Then smoke is seen in the distance, life, it’s a building with a smoke stack, relief, the calm inside, we have made it. The Salmon sets off across the Atlantic, a six thousand mile swim, home to the seed beds, a small river inches deep in water, same as a blob of blood in your little finger seeking it’s way to your toes, nice comparison, but it has to reach the end of your big toe in order to start over again.

Solomon was recalling the calm in the temple, a large crowd had gathered, there was an evening of remembrance going on, and many had come seeking a blessing, then the Spirit filled the entire building with a perfect calm. The Preacher began his sermon, the air was crystal clear, there was hardly a breath to be heard, there was a Holy calm, the Spirit had come home. Solomon sighed, who would believe this calm in a world so worked up, but there it was, as rare as a glass of crystal clear water.

It reminded him of the calm that filled him, the night the “Spirit” arrived in his life, as he watched the dancing spectacle. From that day he knew it would work out, and it had. It led him to a calm inside, amen.

Secret Worlds According to Victor Hugo

The history of nations, the oppression of the weak and vulnerable, the call for a fairer system, while the word of God failed, as preachers joined forces with those who lorded it over the lower classes, how the works of Jesus were forgotten, while clever men wrote books explaining it all, in accordance to what they thought, their words, only pebbles in the wall of understanding, their pride overcomes them, same way a starlet these modern days soaks up the accolades. Solomon was always a fan of the french nation, no one forgets the revolution, and those that came after those mad days, don’t have to be told, you don’t lord it over people, you have to love them all. Victor was a rare exception, he says it well, mixes history with a story of redemption.

Solomon loved the streets of Paris, as a tourist it wasn’t a struggle to survive, he had time to wonder, the long lunch, the dress, the bread, and the wine, the pride of the wine maker, the classifications, how they clap at the end of the movie, okay, so they don’t have big houses, four rooms could be their mansion, entertaining and meeting others was the life, the early morning argument in the cafe, men in their work overalls discussing politics before they went out to sweep the streets, their Pride in the Nation, blessed they believe by God.

So in order to overcome the powers of the authority, you have secret languages and signs, words, obfuscation as some would say, the hidden truth that Greed can destroy, you have a soul, and when mixed with good love, there is great power. Victor and his friends tried to remind us of this, I guess they still are. There is a God they all say, amen.

Exhausted

too much, impossible, trying to handle it all, relax, reach for the TV remote, maybe the V

alium, how do I get rest and solve this, the thoughts that surround your head. Distractions, there are causes everyday, everywhere you look, the teacher is exhausted, How do we put up with all this stress, it’s constant, strange leaders, our morals on show, as bad as seeing dirty underwear everywhere, How can I escape it, the deadline, the mortgage, the rent, the children have to go to their piano lessons. Stop, Solomon sighed, you want the fix that is immediate, it’s simple as this. Pick up book, a story that lifts you, put on a piece of music that you can listen to, breath. In the space of minutes, you will begin to relax. We life in a world that tries to wear us out, we just forget about ourselves. Even Jesus had to escape the apostles, Amen.

It’s a matter of time….

The trouble is it never changes, the same things happen over and over, Amo is listening  to his friend, they are enjoying a coffee at a favorite coffee shop. The two friends are mulling over the times, they are near their end, it’s a matter of time Amo says. His friend smiles, the two of them are not what they were, the limbs are worn, and the eyesight is fading, but they have been friends a long time. They are discussing the end of days, not theirs, that’s a given, its the new world to come that excites them. A lot of new voices are rising up, and there has been many signs, as written in the books of old. Could it be true Amo says, he is excited. The second plane landed on the water, and all survived, the names in the press have an ancient heritage to them, there are changes going on in places no one could have considered, and a TV character is now the president of the United States.

His friend smiles, his head leans left, a smartly dressed young woman passes, just out of his age range by fifty years, Amo leans left too, those were the days, then adds, that New Guy too, at least he’s got serious medical help. Another young woman passes, her head at an angle to the ground, bent over, she is reading her phone, how does she do that without falling over. Amo laughs, it’s good just being able to walk.

Solomon sat at another table, the conversation wagged his ears, he wasn’t spying, he was learning. A matter of time, Ezra said it, or was it the angel, when the time comes, the birthing process begins, a serious of signs, the soft warnings, then it gets closer. It reminded him of a spiral. A matter of time, why not invest in Spirit, he sighed. Given the changes going on, the human race could do with more credit in those hidden places, it’s a matter of time.

Young and Free

Child plays with her mother, eats from a biscuit, her eyes wander, filling the head, Solomon looks at his cigarette, puts it out of sight, what habits do I want to encourage, He recalls the movies he has seen as a child, the cigarette moments, the way the smoke lifts from the lips of the seductress, so persuasive, hypnotising when your a mere child. The young girl looks at the Mother, the mother smiles, the little girl wanders a little further, knows her mother is watching, she will be okay, young and free. Imagine it, Solomon had, no one living was perfect, but imagine it, the old days, those in charge of the Spiritual teaching, making it difficult for those who wanted to believe, coming up with complex rules, Jesus is watching this, he wonders are they for real, inside he sighs, this is simple, don’t harbour harm, be gentle, show compassion, and when you do love, be for real.  Solomon watched the playful child, doing what a child does best, being playful, no fears. In a very short time, those little eyes would have to deal with the elephant in the room, the interest everyone shows in the modern day cigarette, the mobile phone. The signs were coming fast, and miracles are happening, times like these that they dreamed of over a thousand years ago, happening today for real. Young and free, amen, listen.
