Cocaine, Crow Health and Prohibition

This is not going to go down well with the Hogi, is that the name of the mountain people of Columbia, it wont go down well with the shaman’s of old either, It won’t go down well with many, but what has prohibition done for the world, same as McCarthyism and the death of a great moral consciousness, that didn’t go down well, all considering the war in Vietnam didn’t do much for the human reputation either, neither did the Korean war of the fifties, damn, there has been so many sure footed decisions, and the aftermath, well, lets say it’s been a disaster.

“What do you really think of the Human Race Clyde.”

Clyde sits on the branch beside his sweetheart crow, Bonny, she is a few months older than him, but that don’t matter to Clyde, he loves the glow of her feathers,  means that she likes him. Clyde wants to make a good impression on Bonny, he thinks about some of the decisions of the human race. You can make a rash answer, that’s why they made so many bad decisions, humans that is, and he does not feel like imitating them.

“Bonny, they don’t look after the water either, have you noticed that!” Clyde is trying top look serious, women like that, Crows who think they are smart.

“Yes Clyde, you can say that again, the sweet water is now sour tasting” she turns her head, eases over towards Clyde.

Bonny, she is getting serious, Clyde wonders what to do next. The need to take your time, the need for patience, he is thinking on the branch.

“I suppose in different continents there are different birds, we don’t all react the same, and when you see the swallow family come all the way across the world, there is always other places you can visit”

He is trying to sell her the idea, you have to think outside the nest, we are not all the same.

Solomon had a dream, it wasn’t the regular dream, it was about prohibition, and what in truth happens, it only leads to massive corruption and the creation of gang warfare, nothing else. When the tried to kill Jesus’s message, prohibition in another form, they only made it more popular, so not all prohibition leads to harm, food for thought. He is sitting in a kitchen, he is with some South American ‘s, they are stirring cocoa powder into the big cake mix, food, they say it gives you energy, nothing more. He is then in the skin of a man fleeing, he encounters the police, all they want is a bribe, nothing new there, make it illegal and the profit grows, while those with the manpower and fire power control the game. He can hear the critics, they will scowl, how can you be so irresponsible, saying what you say. Solomon sighs, the way you feed the children to the social media monsters, it’s time you looked in the mirror, amen.

To wake up each morning knowing that the Creator of the universe loves you — From guest writers… re blog, you are never alone

The greatest thing in life is to wake up each morning knowing that the Creator of the universe loves me. As one writer put it ‘He loves me as I am, not as I should be, but He loves me too much to leave me as I am’. ~ Alan Hermann

Not Another Boring Day….

The bed is so comfy, the dread of the office, you might even pick up a cold, everyone is complaining of the virus, another one does it’s rounds. You pull the covers a little higher, it’s safe in there, and warm, the thought of cold water on your face, the shock of it, is there anything better to do, and don’t forget the mouthwash, nay, I’d rather stay in bed and have a few beers, reflect on the times I was young and brave, and there was a cause to fight for, those were the days. The clock buzzes, the repeat alarm, who invented such a thing, same as adds on the TV, thank god for the world that allows us watch TV without having to digest the adds. The media influence is slipping and the people are finding their voice, amen.

The rules, you can’t eat this, and that is bad for you too, seems like you will have to dump the contents of the fridge again, third time in a month. Too much money perhaps, and no common sense, your thinking all the time while under the duvet. You recall that movie, the guy takes out the friends Ferrari, Ferris someone or other, you remember, it was a few years ago, the stuff you remember, it was years ago, still you recall, not so bad, your testing the old grey matter, nothing wrong with it. Time to call in a sickie, one less in the office, temporary staff will get a call, someone will eat an unexpected lunch, even better, a child will get an unexpected treat, courtesy to your non arrival at work, ever see it like that, possibly not, you know now, so what are you waiting for.

Stuff you used to do, and still want to, the mornings under the duvet. You are not getting up for work you say, the words you used long ago when the pillow was not empty, the damn rules and the fear it spreads. Impressionism wasn’t painting in the fifteenth century, but it was many years later, and possibly the most sought after art there is today, everything changes. You grab the duvet and smile, you are still willing to risk it, and it feels good.

Solomon sighed, I will have to get a regular job one day, but today I’m going to be me. The rules, even Jesus had to put up with the jibes, well, he was stealing the power of the so called rulers of the day, so they imagined, well he wasn’t, it was just an awful lot easier when you say it as it is, and stop the acting as so many of them did, in order to secure their jobs and the power they held. A reminder to everyone, you can change it any given day, and once you understand that and think how others feel, the world around you brightens up, and all despair just leaves you, you just have to imagine it.

Wisdom

Rules, we were made to break them, improve on them if you like, so the young assistant listens to the old man, rules, it was her middle name, the fear of getting it wrong, and the paralysis it creates. She was trying to appease the old man, they get diddery don’t they. She mixes the drink with the clotting agent, his swallow is difficult, the muscles don’t have the same dexterity, she assumes he doesn’t want to choke. Where are you from he asks, then he said, I like your accent.

I come far from here she says, her accent east European. She spoons in the thickening agent, and passes him the cup of tea.  He sips with difficulty. Her hand takes his shoulder, leans him forward, makes it easier. He swallows easier. I like your accent madame he says with a smile, so you have traveled too she imagines. You didn’t tell me where you are from, he says, he is smiling at her. why would anyone be interested in where she came from. She remembers her mother, her father, those left behind, inside she sighs, thinking of them, and the struggle they made in order to give her the freedom to travel. Wisdom he smiles, as if he could read her mind. Don’t be afraid to ask he says, with a smile.

Children’s Day

Mother’s day, women’s day, father’s day, international this day, international that,. this the other, postcards, preparations, the party afterwards, the novelties, the protests, the speakers, the conference, the global speeches, what a load of what, you ask?

The old musketeers, this is old France, the sun king, the belief in the wonders of God, the upstairs and downstairs attitude, those that exceeded their power, loosing their heads, in every way imaginable, you can’t abuse power and get away with it, have all the tyranny you want, but you are not going to get away with it, there are those who will ensure that, there are those who know what is divine.

Solomon sighed, he saw the attitude on the faces, the lives that jumped forward to another time, saw the breakdown in society, the denial of children, of a healthy living world, then passing on the news to their counterparts of old, the car exchanged for a horse, the law replaced by a sword. This is worth fighting for they say. The roots of our problem sown in the past.

Children’s day, not a roll out of all the great advantages that we fill our selves with, feel good is great, they felt the same way on the Titanic, we are all going on a holiday. All the stress that is created, the effort to focus on the lower regions, its’ very pleasurable they say, but there is time, let us grow up first.

What would they think, those who went before us, not the closed minded, but those who were enlightened, and there are many Spirits, watching our progress, even today, wondering what we are going to do next. Are we going to ruin it for everyone, or do something good. Thoughts for a Monday.

Uncertain Times Today

Extremists are being rounded up, their schemes are falling apart, and while there are some who still encourage hate, they can never succeed, it’s as simple as that. Amo was listening to the news, a plane falls from the Sky, a hundred and fifty seven die, a mad man storms a holy place in New Zealand, Christchurch, 49 souls die, how pointed was that he sighed, demons, when will they give up. A good prayer was called for, the usual suspects hope for the worst of reactions, those on the side of good, pray for compassion and understanding, those of evil mind, want resentment and hatred to grow, it was a table tennis match, if such could describe things. Amo sighed, remain calm, it will all work out.

Why do things go wrong, why do good people die, why did I lose my Father when I was young, why why why, there are so many questions that many sought the answers too. The emotions are torn and twisted, why, the heart is sighing, how will I get over this. Amo smiled, it’s not too difficult, sometimes we don’t understand why we exist at all. Some on us in constant state of pain, while others just float across the sky, effortless. It’s about Spirit sighed Amo, there is light and dark, and the story of the talents, think about it.

What did Jesus spend his life doing, in a nutshell, raising the Holy Spirit, reminding us, that God is inside us, you just have to make room, as if you are expecting a visitor to call, it’s not too hard, until this world addicts you, amen. Why did he get rid of demons, why, he came to teach us about our potential, not to let our bad habits overcome us.

Nashat

He shared his sweets, and was willing to serve, a friend of the most High, he died after he had prayed, a humble man, careful in his choice of words, proud of the achievements of his daughters, I called him a friend. A believer in the Most High, devout in his faith, a builder of bridges, between the Faiths, understood they were on the same Journey, the instruction manual was different, that’s all. He called me friend, and wore a smile on his face too, thanks. He brought many blessings with him, and I received more than my share, and as he did, I passed them on, they were a gift after all. Reared in the Islamic faith, we both got to know each other, and we shared the occasional walk, got to chat, recognized what we had in common, a fear of extremism and the hatred it breeds. See you again, old friend.

Solomon sighed, the class size wall small, but once in the room, there were no differences at all. Reaching out, it wasn’t tough, just requires a practice. Across the world, Solomon sighed, there were those trying to reform, and were under assault from the extreme thinkers, they needed help and encouraging words and actions. So Solomon wrote it, well, it was what Nashat would have done. We all learn from good example.
