Focus in times of virus….

Laid up in hospital, nothing to do, hopefully you will recover, the advice of the physician, the nurse who comes when your buzzer goes off, time to eat, time to take your medication. She is on a visit to see her grandfather. Down the corridor and second room to the left, she breezes along. A big smile is prepared before she enters the room, she wonders what form he will be in, he is a grumpy sort, but kind. Doesn’t fire but straight.

Hi she says, big smile on her face, she is wearing the obligatory mask, she pulls it aside while she bends to kiss him on the forehead, why are you wearing that he remarks, wheezing, nearly out of breath, the lungs not as strong as they used to be. He is approaching ninety, has been through the second world war, Korea, Vietnam, an army vet as the experience tells you.

We all have to wear them now, it’s the law.

It takes your mind off the other stuff he replies.

What do you mean by that she says. …

He drifts off to sleep, she leaves him to have the quite moment, she waits. He is in a dream, it’s not dreaming, he is a boy again, on summer retreat with friends, the two week camp they used to have during the summer break. Climbing walls, chasing cows, trying to climb the neighbors apple trees without getting caught, playing cowboys and Indians. She watches the expression change on his face, the array of smiles, what gives him the thrill, he is old, the life he lived, she can only imagine. Suddenly he wakes up, he is shocked to see her still there.

you must have been dreaming she says.

What?

You have a smile on your face, I was watching you.

Oh that he says.

there was a time when…

Children played, they slept in the same bed, teenagers, went about together during the day, no anxiety, no stressed parents, no one anxious, no one concerned with predators, no thoughts such as these existed whatsoever. He rambles on. and water you could drink from the tap, that was till they modernized it all. He looks at her.

She thinks, old man, what does he know.

I think it’s time to go she says. She pushes her mask to the side, tips his forehead with his lips, see you soon she says, whatever he replies.

later, she retells the story of the visit to her sister, how was he she says. He will live to a hundred, but I didn’t like the creepy stares of the male nurse, he scared me. What do you mean.

Solomon sighed, the difference in the ages, and the imaginings in the mind. The stuff that is fed into them, and the anxieties that last forever. The virus was a topic of conversation all over the world. It refocused the minds on the living.

Insight to the Corona Virus

Preparing for a journey, bags packed, you are heading down the stairs, you better hurry Jack, he misses a step, lands on the ground floor, full of energy, the energy that lifts, no need to worry, this is a time to relax, everyone light in mind, the usual worries abandoned, less anxiety better health.

She checks the window, peers into the street, has a habit of worrying. Getting older, the streets are not so safe, she watches the news, the nightly reports of crime, ensures she lives in a well guarded house, three locks on the front door, double bolts at the rear, she’d feel safer in an apartment block, with no back door.

Restriction in movement, the normal path is not safe, he takes the long way round, avoids the road block. Getting to the appointment is not easy, there is a border to cross, and it’s busy everyday, as the local inhabitants who live on the Palestinian side are made wait, he gets to his appointment on time, because he knows how to escape the patrols.

Market trader sits in his office, numb, his futures market has been wiped out and no one is keen to trade, after loosing his capital he has no place to move, the house mortgaged, who could predict the 1929 crash, and then the aftermath, while those with the means, exploited the weakness in the market and the loss of so much paper credit.

The world is running out of control, the fish are gasping for breath, the animals are moving from the forest, clean water is getting rarer by the day, children are unable to keep up their stress levels, there is a rise in depression everywhere, they need to slow down. A voice calls from the wilderness, listen to the words of the prophets it says.

Memory Issues…

Living in a world, that is full of memory, and then the large number of people, loosing their memory at the same time, and what is a memory; is it the once clean ocean, is it the clean social environment, is it the gap between the poor and the rich, is it the fifty million who lost their lives in the last war, is it the waiting list for the vital surgery, is it the tear filled ballad sung from the heart, that went to number one, and made the ego jump to new heights, memory issues, 23 trillion off shore and counting, we have a dire shortage of cash, we haven’t this and that, we used to have clean water on tap, we used to have men and women who loved romance, now we breed addicts and find ways to trap them, there are lots of memory issues.

Solomon sighed, the changing times would help with the memory issues. The memory of Jesus and his miracles, The sacrifice of those who gave up their ego’s for God’s world to come, Yusuf Islam, Cat Stevens….

yes, there are those who can make the leap, there are some great souls left.

Space Wars

Movie titles, credit lists, the long list of names that took part in the production, it wasn’t a one man game, collective, the world, same as all those species fighting to hang on, each bit playing a part in the life of another, some might call it space wars. Solomon sighed, the world was addicted to the image driven world, where outside beauty mattered over everything else, which of course can be easily manipulated, and has. Jesus reminds us, it’s your heart where all your beauty is stored, and so we have idols who try to grab our attention, and those you try to open our hearts, in the hope that we can see, it’s a real space war. Solomon sighed, it’s not hard to work out what matters when your old and wrinkly and lying on the bed, your hair is grey, perhaps falling out, your teeth no longer bleach, and your ability to do the basic toiletries, to say the least, a bit inhibited. Boy, don’t you wish your heart was full of good deeds to reflect on, rather than the state of your decaying body, what the difference a smile makes, amen. Can you imagine the God of Jesus residing inside a rubbish dump of a life, with a big smile on His Face.

A Little Love Goes a Long way…

She holds her heart, hasn’t opened it in years, the memories comeback, the fear, was it something she experienced as a girl, did the heart get wiped out too often, does she bypass it. The boy is young smart and clever, has great dreams, has experienced estacy, the thrill of the inside, that nothing but confidence can give, I did that, it was me, he grows in stature, he is becoming a man. She runs in the door, the news, she can’t believe it, the news is shattering, so good too, why did it happen to me, it is the tsunami moment, everything she holds dear has been washed away, why me. How life can twist in a single moment, the glimpse of love, and how you can’t resist, the moments that make life worth remembering, a little goes a long way as they say.

Solomon sighed, his heart was full of the thrill, amazing things were happening, not that he had much to do with it, The Spirit that was given to him, and what it has inspired in him, a gift that is truly divine. He watches the flowers pass down the street, there is a feeling of spring, new life, so many hearts were opening, something great is happening. Why be surprised he sighed, in the past, so many cultures reported the same thing, after a disaster or seeming disaster, someone wise comes along. Yes, it was just as Jesus has said, the helper always arrives, just open your heart, and let the light in, it’s that simple, amen.

Don’t give up, you never know who is beside you, any given day!

Be Inspired Says Amo

Whats that Eamo, (Amo), the old man mutters a few choice words, will they ever shut up, rubbish he sighs, he has seen more than all the rest, with open eyes and a forgiving heart, has no  time for the narrow minded, found them a great pain, lousers, they would depress a flower, be inspired and share a little lightness, you will all be pleasantly surprised.  In the corner of the room, he hears the sighs, can read their minds, finds peace when in contact with true spirit, which he does most of the time.

Memories, what, he is tired of all the talk, would they ever talk about what they are going to do, he has heard it all, seen the impossible, has had his prayers answered so often, why the hushed tones, had they not learned a thing or two, he even recognizes the perfume they wear, all is known to the Lord, amen.

Solomon sighed, Amo had gone ahead of him, was preparing the way, leveling the field, uprooting the weeds, turning it all on it’s head, cause Amo didn’t sit their and dwell, he had a plan, and it was everyday, yes, everyday, the gift of life, he knew it from the beginning.

As for music, at least enjoy what your listening to he says, singing is free damn you, give it a try, they look at him in the bed, was he talking to us, of course I was he said, and you’ll be hearing from me, long after I’m gone, wait and see, then Amo put his eyes down, decided he needed a vacation, the rest is history. Amo’s play list includes…

All you need is a good night’s sleep

Close the eyes, no need to be anesthetized, as happens in many busy lives, the ability to switch off,  impossible, the brain in a hurry, success buttons on full, how often it is said, you have what you want, when you’re truly happy on the inside, how many, the diva’s that need reassurance, the game that is forever playing out, then the inevitable collapse. In all the health books, the food is great advice, but without

good sleep, you wake jaded, what has happened you ask.

The money machine pumps it out, day and night, never stops running, the pressure to keep up, the new gadget, have to have that, the wife or husband or partner, there seems to be no downtime, less time for the children, meanwhile the President tweets, stuff he is going to shut down, knowing it won’t affect him personally, the religious hierarchy, it’s our way, we have been doing this for over a thousand years, the constant threat to those who challenge the system.

Well, take heart, and this is real, God is real, it’s not myth, and regardless of the regulations that are set, remember they are only regulations, and if unhappy with those in positions of authority, recall the words of old, as said by Jesus, those who take such high positions will be held accountable, so close your eyes tonight and sleep, think of a good memory, involve yourself in real loving adventures, and the help will come, goodnight, amen.

More Valued Than Gold…

Mavis is laughing, her gummy mouth is in the shape of an arc, She can’t believe her nephew’s story, he is not sure how to re act, I just got the sack and she is laughing. It’s the first time she heard something so silly, it brings her back to a time, they were part of a crowd, all girls, Elvis had come to town, boy she wished she’d legs worth looking at. God can do anything, she hears the voice, did you say something, Jimmy shakes his head, raises his eyebrows, the old dear is losing her head, it won’t be long now he sighs to himself. Mavis listens to the voice in her head, she can’t stop smiling, is it you she sighs, she recalls her deceased husband, jimmy assumes she is totally loosing it, well, something they have in common, both on the loosing side.

It’s mid day, the trolley girl comes in, Mavis your looking an awful lot better she says, Mavis smiles. He’s my nephew she says, her voice clear, and precise, not the usual slow hiss. Marion, the nurse, looks at Jimmy, you have a talent for waking the Spirit, maybe you have a talent for that she says. She is cute he thinks, he is nearly afraid to look her in the eye, they might ban him from the old folks home, he gets over the thought, Maybe that is not a bad idea he replies, I just lost my job…

Mavis hears the voice in her head, God Most High can do anything, you just have to believe.

Spirit to Spirit

The interests within, words connect, like friends, burdens are put down, ease of mind, even if the conversation is tense, when the Spirit’s can relax, be true to each other, wisdom is engaged, both are listening. In a narrow minded world, with many narrow minded minds, same way the coronary artery constricts, not enough good exercise, bet you never heard your heart surgeon speak like that before, but it’s a good analogy, whatever, the Spirit relaxes, anxieties are put aside, and when the meeting is over, there is a feeling of being relaxed, how easy it sounds.

The other end of the spectrum, anxiety, wanting, need, fear, leaving you a nervous wreck, planning without knowing it, seeking ways to escape, be it the weekend or what, big difference in the two paragraphs, one leaves you relaxed, the other, stressed.

Solomon prayed to His Father in Heaven, there were extremists hoping to cause anxiety fear and stress, hoping to take advantage of others, remind them Prayed Solomon, that they will have to account for it, he sighs. The wonder of divine intervention, priceless.Featured Image -- 1110230523

Seventeen years Later.. 9/11

Millions dead later, so many lives destroyed, war when there could have been peace, chaos in many places, and lots of reasons to forgive, and seek it, children online, guidance an issue, all parties, devotees of Jesus, he is mentioned regularly in the Qu’ran too, and forgiveness was his message, don’t return violence for violence, don’t fear what can kill the body, only that which can kill the Spirit, have we learned. A time to reflect, time to put aside national pride, what does it matter when your gone.

Solomon was reflecting, he had many words he could use, but he wanted to keep it short, it would be easy get emotional, it would be easy to rise the anger of many, it is so easy to increase the hurt, why would you, there are plenty already doing that. A new era in terms of world change, many reasons to believe, this life is not the end, and bringing anger with you, was going to solve nothing. Love, the answer to every prayer, amen. Fifty million dead, after the second great war, so many killed there, one day if this keeps up, there would be nothing to count at all, and no one to count either.
