Men and Women

You and me, we get to know each other, we wriggle with our fingers, there is an energy, you can read each others thoughts, how are our emotions in tandem, then we part, the memory remains, wish I could have more of that, she sighs, when I am with you I think of nothing else.

Solomon listened to the prophet woman, she had staying power, was on a one person mission, her devotion clear, aimed at pleasing God. Solomon listens, she rattles on, he nods, some days we have to clean, other days we wash, we smarten ourselves up, fine, there are a lot of changes in a single minute, the memory of 9/11 a very real event, along with the multitude of assaults on civilians, who had their entire towns bombed from a safe height, we all have ideas of righteousness, not all of them work out.

Men and women said Solomon, he threw out the point, we are in this together, all of us, none of us made it without the other, so why all these differences then. He wanted to invite her over for a chat; there were a few holes in her thought process and Solomon wanted to help her fill them in; If you are going to teach Jesus, God, and the Holy prophets, you need to have a base built on compassion. an understanding of unconditional love, and the humility of a farmer depending on the weather, please.

My Life

He has no teeth when he laughs, there is just a wonder in his eyes, you asking me he says, what could be interesting about me; the school children are doing a survey of the aged, they are on a return visit to the retirement home; Old Murt laughs, My life, you want to know about it, the children nod. It was simpler then he says, he looks around him, there is disdain in his stare, used to care for the elderly, at home, at home he says to himself, in those days they did lots different. He doesn’t want to discourage them, they are young, and every generation strives to do it better, improve on it.  Murt finds he isn’t tired the way he is when talking to the aged, his own age. Young ones are enthusiastic, energy, he can pick it up.

My life, Solomon sighed. He’d heard from a few climbing the mountain; they believe this and that, good at rituals, rules for food, times, it’s well laid out, not too hard to follow; Then Solomon sighed, if there is no love in it, what does it matter, My Life, amen.

Outside World

He closes the door, the walk isn’t too far, he wants a cigarette, a fix in the morning a bite in the afternoon, a few cans in the middle, and by four he will be out of it again, outside the world. She will pass by him and shrug, he is on a bench outside the church, lifting her eyes to heaven, she remarks

, did you see the like of that, alcohol drenched sloshed in front of your church, no respect she mutters beneath her breath. He eyes her as she passes; would she ever throw a few coins, has she any heart at all. She can hear his thoughts, his eyes stab her like daggers, in the back. All he does is drink it, she ignores him and walks on.

Mrs O’Neill says the cashier, she is inside the women’s fashion shop, everywhere, it’s spotless and shiny, she is there to try the new dress, there is a wedding coming up. It’s awful what you see on the street these days remarks Mrs O’Neill, referring to the drunk slumped over the bench down by the church. The attendant ignores the remark. A half hour later, Larry is slouched completely, lying motionless on the pavement now. In sleep land, he does not notice Mrs O’Neill as she passes; the smell of alcohol and that other smell, have they no respect she says.

Solomon heard two women in conversation, the sight of alcohol soaked bodies hanging around the sanctuary is too much for them, they have to speak up. What the children are exposed to one of them says. Solomon smiled, God works in wondrous ways, giving us tips, and angels come in all sorts of guises, many times just warning us all, of the outside worlds.

Moses and the Burning Bush

Lightning, the sky lights up, from nowhere, a bolt of light descends from the Sky, air traffic control that was close, missed by inches, a loud crack, the terror and screams nearby, it could have hit us. Solomon listened to the news, he was burning the green at the time, then heard the news, could it be real, the earth was on fire,

fire it seems. If a healthy environment is our get out of jail card, then everyone on the planet was getting a reminder, and as in olden times, when God chose to use a burning bush to communicate with his Prophet, many thousands of years later, the same was happening again. There were those bent on the destruction of the living environment for real short term gain, as if we hadn’t enough palm oil already.

Yes, the various environments needed support; the creator could only do so much, our free will does the rest, choices. A student of the ancient texts and striving to get a clearer impression of what it all means, Solomon thought the timing of the burning bush was apt, given that some world Leaders were meeting together, and talk was of the burning bush, not that it was meant to appear on the agenda, but when fire rages, who can afford to ignore it. Imagine, they meet up, discuss, never once wondering, if the fate of the burning bush, was a clear message to them, well, leaders lead, they don’t build castles in the sky.

Thirty thousand feet, the engine wobbles, everyone on the jet trembles, former certainty wanes, could this happen to us as well, yes it could sighed Solomon. Stories such as Moses and the burning bush, are there to remind us, of the many ways God communicates with us; this is a living planet and it does not belong to you, amen.

How’d We Get Here

It’s dark, there seems to be life everyhwere but no light, breathing sounds, slow movemements, it does smell okay, problem is, you can’t see anything, Fred is trying to work out what happened, he was on a night out, then nothing. He’s been here for days, and time goes so slowly, when you have no idea what to do or where you are, how’d we get here. He wriggles around, there is a spot of light, it’s brighter over there, and, he procedes slowly, the survace is broken, intense light, fred pulls himself up onto the ground, recognises, trees he thinks, and that’s grass, How Did I get here. Barney hawk is flying overhead, out for the breakfast, spots a movment down in the grass, he must be a hundred feet above it, but it does not matter when your eyes are radars. Barney, flies on, anything for the after course, nothing unusual, he swings back. Fred is still trying to get his bearings; adjusting to the new life takes time, said so in the PHD management manual he used to study, that he recalls, his memory is still patchy. Claws extended, one grab, Fred is now having a paraglding experience without the parachute, wow he says, how’d we get here. It’s good to be prepared sighs Fred, having recently increased his life insurance cover; he had a lot of enemies.

The Book of Numbers

The little black book, the names and numbers, your codex for life, those you want contact with, then you have the secret book, the one with details of all that is wrong, you roll the finger on the contact list, what can they do for you, who will you contact today, bored or a random selection, the real conversations you have, the frothing mouth as you think there is going to be something in it for you. It’s amazing what used to get our juices flowing, the drama, the rubber necking, did someone die in that accident, did he really have all that money, thinking numbers, but really only wishing they were yours. Human nature sighed solomon.

A mute point, Solomon was reading the book of numbers, and every time he looked, he reads the list, the items taken along for the journey, the responsibility of each clan, where they were to stand in the procession of the lords presence and tent, every dot measured, even how you deal with family issues, in a world dedicated to the Lord your God, and the promise of proctection and care for those who were considered good guardians of the Lords Earth.  why was there such detail recorded, surely it wasn’t to amuse us, it had to be a method of teaching us. So here we are, thousands of years later, at a time when much of the old scriptures is coming to pass. Imagine your name in the book of the living, the promise of eternity, then your name in book of the dead, and the promise of eternal destruction. It’s wise to be mindful in these times, amen.

Solomon encountered the Spirit, the One God Sends, and found he had been endowed with a few gifts, and the challenge was, how do you use them; do you seek gain for yourself or do you cast your hopes wide and try to include others, the choice. it’s as simple as that. Do you do what the rebellious israelites did at the time of Moses; Moses goes away to worship and talk with the Lord, meanwhile a few loud mouths encourage the Israelites to worship and offer sacrifices to Demons, out of a feeling of security, maybe Moses is not coming back. Imagine Moses, full of the light, happy, got the approval he sought, and proctection for his, the Lords people, imagine the plans he had in mind, happy and full of joy, same as the feeling you might have if you won a new car, and there it sits in the drive, you smile, the smell of the new leather seats, what a joy. Then the local thug next door arrives and produces a sledge hammer, and attempts to demolish the car, your Joy. Well, There is Moses, open your eyes, he spots them from afar, gets closer, has a panic attack, what are they doing, worshipping Gold, an idol, what have they done, and 23,000 dropped dead in the desert, as Moses anger was felt by the lord. As Jesus would say, listen fast if you have ears and you want a share in the world to come, amen.

Baggage and the Past

learn from your life, don’t ignore your past, and don’t over burden yourself with worthless baggage, forgive your mistakes, and forgive others theirs, this life is a journey not a day trip, so while you forgive others, others may forgive you. How can you say you don’t like fish if you don’t try it a few times, same with forgiveness, until you try it you will never know what it feels like, the rush of energy you will feel, the lightness of being, the inner well being. Perhaps, you want to feel misery and just pass it on, stay addicted as they say. As children, we learn from the imitation around us.

Solomon was trying to get to the nub of the issue; how to become light, as we are children of the light. He surmised, I guess you have to unload the resentments you store up inside. Can you imagine a bird flying with an Iron Bar attached to his leg. Neither do I. There were many little habits that we could build into our lives, easily. Don’t look away when you see suffering, don’t elevate yourself when one day you will be the same as dirt, who are you fooling. Stop before you go out the door, think, will I do something good today, and if you have a talent, it was given to you to be shared out. AS Neil Young says, castles in the Head, zero on the ground, (well)….

Birds Fly, they wear no parachutes, they rise when they want, they can see a worm from a thousand feet, and a small fish under water from

far on high, and you think you have a special skill; well, you did once. Light, find it inside you, amen.
