No Religion

The prophets of old, the words of Jesus, written many times, the day is unknown, the hour, but when it happens, the great change, it will be instant, the light of God will be all the religion they will need. In a nutshell sighed Solomon, rather than dwell on what divides so many believers, who not focus on what we have in common, and work back, love God first, and it will all work out. Not bad trying to figure out your purpose on earth, amen.

Hey gang! I found a very appealing and fascinating set of postcards from 1907 , featuring newlyweds off on their first adventure together : – their honeymoon. These cards were published by the Julius Bien & Co. Lithographic firm, which was in business between 1850-1915 in New York City. Bien himself was originally an immigrant […]

Lifting The Spirit

“it does not lift itself, you have to pump the gas, there is an endless supply when we do.

Solomon was reading a story, the ancient worlds, well, 3,000, or 2,000 odd years ago, seems a long time, but when you break it down and add the years of a small community together, the combined ages of six families can exceed a 1,000 years lived very easily. In the days of old, walls made of mud, warm weather, the shepherds in the hills, the women fetching water from the wells, meals prepared in pots, smoke drifting across the yard, children playing, no one worrying either, is the goat getting fat, the only fear, the thought of war, otherwise, plain sailing, the only other threat, the fear of the Romans, they controlling the lands. The Original Jews, believers mainly, worshiping the sabbath, teaching in the temple, waiting for the Messiah to arrive, as written in their ancient books. A lot of discipline required, the communities labor daily, the pharisee’s play at politics, soothing the angst within the community, keeping the roman’s at arms length, who allow them freedom over their own affairs.

We read these stories today, and then we try to compare those times to these, we add what we perceive to be today’s way of thinking, todays standards, to what was going on in those times and we try and make it sound logical, which is not easy, if downright, impossible. Don’t Marry outside your own, do this, do that, adultery an anathema, you can’t have that, it will destroy the peaceful community, you can’t get a bus and arrive in New York, after messing up in Los Angeles. You get the point, it wasn’t as we see things today. But passing on the Spirit, the strengthening of it, passing it on to those already endowed with it, same as passing on your traits, getting stronger and wiser as a result. Lifting the Spirit, isn’t it great to have a Spirit that is strong and full of good purpose, rather than a Spirit that is strong and full of resentment and hate. One version leads you to a life of Great Hope, the other version leads to a world of tyrants. Nurturing in a sound environment, lifting the Spirit, amen.

Little Brother

What are you doing, I’m talking to you, the small child ignores his senior, continues with the virtual game, it keeps the mind occupied, what difference does it make he thinks, an extra half hour on the machine, he punches the buttons, it’s exciting, ignores the older person. Child is dismayed, watched a documentary recently, the failure of the adult population and now the existence of the world is endangered, enjoy it while you can, he has heard all the feel good blurb, one life, do what you can, chase the power and the cash, and the thrill if you can, everybody else is at it, Doesn’t God understand, the child is engaged in mind, the game continues, heard some leaders on TV, the game is all that matters, well, he picks up on the propaganda, can fool his mother his teachers, just about everyone, what are you looking at Big Brother, I’m doing what you have all been doing all these years, looking after yourselves, he looks at his older brother with contempt.

The Bishop makes an appeal in church, the environment, the little boy listens, wishes that the bishop was more exciting, and said something he’d hadn’t already heard. They preach from comfortable positions, you are not fooling anyone. as for the Treatment of women, this child has heard from his grannies conversations with friends, he is a bit of an eavesdropper, all children are, the desire to learn burns inside them. Voting rights only arrived in the last hundred years, and they burned women for having ideas, the little boy listened to those stories, didn’t like what they did to women, he loves his mother, and now they call themselves his mothers friends. does not like his mother portrayed as a sexual object either.

Solomon smiled, the wisdom of God and the foolishness of men, they haven’t a clue. Leaders rise up, and make fools of the usual candidates, Donald Trump comes to mind, every vice of the human race, seemingly, his brand is bumped into cyber space, and the sound byte gets him elected, the elongated strategies of the solid candidates ignored, same as the child and his little brother, why should you listen to more of the same, when in the past they let everyone down, the child is no fool, and no one fools God. Well, playing games with climate change fools no one ,a case of a boy called wolf, amen. Power, money is control, watch them come, watch the forests burn, really…

And you want to send example to your children, they usually imitate you.

Te Amo

Amo, what are you saying, the old geezer lifts his head, he is old, it’s tough, the muscles are weak, lying on the pillow, not enough exercise, getting older, still wise though, has his faculties. Te Amo, he says, she listens in close, the nurse, what is it your trying to say, she leans closer, can feel the breath from his mouth, Te Amo, he repeats, she sighs, can’t make it out, getting old, it’s hard to understand what is being said. Amo chases the room with his eyes, Amo he says, Amo, a memory returns to him, how he used to enjoy making people smile, women in particular, and children, being a man, he was not impressed with the male attitude, always in a hurry, did they ever hear of the word, wait.

Valentines day, he had friends, some old as himself, they having gruff attitudes to the love, living in cuckoo land, giving out, complaining, the world is wrong, had a view on all that was wrong, acted like politicians mostly, as if it was approval they sought, maybe covering up their own fears. Cheer those damn souls up, Valentines day, and the feelings in it, he would send them out cards, at least get them wondering, think different awhile, you will be surprised, who sent that?

He left me twenty years ago, Solomon listens, a blob of Guinness on his lips, being polite, he lets her rant on, who else would listen to this, no wonder he left you he thinks, still smiling at her, he must have been real bad to have that impact on you, he says, as he reaches for the new one, new Guinness, and you still haven’t forgiven him then, why should I she says, she goes on and on, meanwhile Solomon listens, how a conversation can ruin a Guinness moment. Did you ever hear of Love he says, she looks at him as if he has sixteen eyes and looks like a sheep, oddly, what’s that she says, Solomon raises his eyes, I will be on the whiskey soon if she keeps this up, did you ever hear of Te Amo, is that a drink she asks, mind if I go to the bathroom he says. So many wars fought over love that goes wrong, history of the human race, amen.

Nature and the Human Mind

Can we sell it, well I guess they tried, are there those who try to distract us, what do you think, the two souls are at the zoo, in the bird zone, they are there in response to a question the child answered, it made the old guy laugh, and that does not happen often enough. He was teaching his grandson, trying to make himself useful, after all, the boys mother, his daughter, was providing him, the old man, with the shelter he needed, and if he needed reminding, it was cold outside, he could feel the warm heat, not daring to go outside, so he decided to teach the young child.

“A humming bird is a chick the sings”  smiled the little boy, his eyes turned sideways, he half glances up at his grand dad, wondering what will be the expression in his eyes. It bears a smile as he well knows, but the assurance of having someone older with all the right answers, was and is a luxury few have these days. Grand dad laughs,

“you mean one of those girls on the TV who sing,”

the little boy nods. It’s the days end, mother comes in the door, spots her father teaching her son, he is in good hands. A week later they are at the zoo, all because of the sweet little humming bird.

Nature sighed Solomon, there was a need for a greater awareness, the numbers didn’t lie, he thinks of the boy and the hummingbird, when they get it young, it always pays off.

World Wide Weary…

How many people, it must run to many millions, the number of people, men women, many professional, who spend there time conducting inquiries, regurgitating old news, while everyday another reason for inquiry reaches their doors, the proverbial tsunami of bureaucracy, Pakistan, New Delhi, Geneva, Washington, Ireland, the United Kingdom, everywhere you look, inquiries into the past, while ignoring the now, what a waste of total resources, enough inquiries to feed the hungry and house the homeless across the whole darn world, so much world wide inquiry that is making so many, world wide weary. It’s a pity sighed Solomon, the total waste of resource, for sure he sighed, Jesus would shake his head at them, if it keeps them busy and so many employed doing zilch when it comes to results, they are just confirming the words of old; very few of them are wise.

Outrage in the minds of the conscientious, without inquiry we would forget it all, without inquiry so many jobs would not exist. Meanwhile, 25 trillion lies off shore, safe from inquiry, and there is no inquiry into that at all, it doesn’t add up. So many were blind, and so many righteous too, pure weary. Solomon was asking for wisdom to intervene, and being a daily seeker, he was expecting answers. There were those who wanted the attention of all to be stuck to this world, while ignoring the promise of the world to come, there ought to be an inquiry into that he sighed, what is rare he sighed, the use of wisdom at all. A smile crosses his face, once you float the ship it sails, once you push out the idea, the tide changes. It had been going on for some years now, amen. Do you want to be healed, he imagined many did. If that’s the case, focus on the world inside, Spirit, it always survives. Those who tampered with the well being of Spirit, were now putting themselves firmly in the eyes of the Heavenly life, amen.

Meanwhile, the vulnerable children are being fed into the machine, while those conducting those inquiries, are doing what…..

When you see the cloud, Spirit, great changes, unstable leaders, nations in chaos, well, it’s time you read the ancient scriptures, it’s been said it was going to be like this..Mercy!
