Friends From Heaven

So many spend their existence climbing the ladder, hoping to mix with those who have, spending their lives gathering what they will have to give away in the end, perhaps praying more as they age, hoping, while holding on to what chains them to the material, recalling their friends who have gone, wondering if they will meet after they pass, wondering who are their friends in Heaven.

Solomon paused, there was talk of change on the talking drums, was it talk, or was their going to be action. To have lived with those who lived fulfilling lives, who are recalled on account of their kindness, recalled cause they were compassionate, recalled because they were not the judging type, recalled because they leave a legacy worth remembering.

The Great truth, in times of old, the certainty of Heaven, and life mirrored that belief in many places; there is a God, you better listen and whatever you do, don’t offend him. Solomon sighed; when you know this truth for certain, and for certain he knew, it was wise to leave a legacy that others would find helpful, in their time too.

Romeo and the Rules

Love lost and found, Milton, the bard of Avon, the dangerous journeys, the stories written into our histories, the impossible victories, the great rescues, Samson, and his last act, David over coming the odds, there is much to remind us of the highs and lows we face everyday, and so much encouragement, did they really do that.

A mother sets out with a boat load of strangers, a flimsy craft that would not qualify for insurance, the worries she feels by passed by the freedom she hopes to find. West side story, he is not good enough, she comes from a broken home, the strange ways we are instructed in wisdom. Then the faith barriers, the rules of the organisation, how we prepare for prayer, what we eat, who we see, how we engage with others, will he change his religion, it used to be a catholic protestant thing, how will they raise the children, the Indian girl who falls in love with the boy from the wrong caste, the oaths that are taken to satisfy religious practice.

There are so many barriers to love, arrangements we have to follow, until the word expands, and understanding of the meaning of love explodes, when there is finally change. So many rules, lessons, when love does not own anything at all, yet the plans we make to control it, something we don’t even own or can ever own.

Solomon had friends from many faiths, and the faith never got in the way,  not in his mind; as he said to a fellow believer; we don’t do it all the same, same as the flowers in the garden, but at our core, we have the same engine, there is one God, and love feels the same, it’s the barriers we put in the way that defines us. Romeo didn’t follow the rules.

Shy Girl

She laughs, he listens, she forgets herself in his company, there are no ills, all dread is cancelled, she wants to hear more, she wonders his opinion, it’s love in an active form, you don’t own it, she enjoys the moment, in times of distress, she goes over the conversation, listens to what was said, the words calm her thoughts, the light gets inside her, her Spirit rises, she imagines the Sun rising, it does, when she listens to His words, she thought she was a shy girl, now she is a smiling girl, a transformation.

What is Love, the question of questions, can you bank it, can you ever own it, she is trying to get her head around it, it’s the one question that needs an answer. Solomon sighed, it’s really simple. It’s healthy to begin with, does not lead you astray, and leaves you wanting more, without loosing your mind, and leaves you smiling or crying, amen.

The Tired outlook…

He read it before, he heard it before, why can’t they lift the Spirit, is it really that hard. Trying to sound polite, is like a lion washing his teeth before he chews you up, it’ll leave a good taste in his mouth, nothing more. The effort to impress, words that are not yours, the love you try to express, when you don’t actually feel it, it’s the same as the next trick at the circus, the magician about to overwhelm, problem is, you can’t get away with it. The next thrill, that will busy you, the toy that curbs the disappointment, the gift that glitters, distractions, from the tired outlook. Solomon encountered the tired outlook, the weary soul, who had set foundations in the wrong place, and was afraid to move.

The dark wave, that once shone bright, the application of rules, when you decide you had enough; demons in a nutshell, drawing you in, forming part of your life, leaving you with, the tired outlook.

Solomon had a prayer for them; those already dead inside, there is a light that can’t be extinguished, amen, and it is real Love, no need for the tired outlook.

Doubles Dear!

Anyone for tennis, it’s summer, might as well get some exercise, doubles dear, cheaper than the gym, and you are likely to see others, whoever you meet. Stretch the muscles, touch the feet, warm up, it’s not exactly Wimbledon, but you know friends who’ve been there, you promise yourself you’ll visit one year, just to tell the others, that you were there, where ever there is. So many people wear an exterior that bore no relationship to the real self, ask any good homicide detective, the number of psycho’s out there. They can literally smell your fear, cause they have felt it themselves. Like demons, they get to know your habits, can dialogue with you, your hobbies, and the stuff of general interest, in a nutshell, they are living double lives, waiting for opportunity to appear.

The flow of Spirit was an area of intense interest to Solomon, how it is interfered with, the gimmicks used by those of bad intent, hoping to drown or destroy it, in the souls that still had it, those who failed to give up. It was easy to fall in with the power of the day, tell yourself, there was nothing you can do, almost as if you are drowning, just accept it, don’t even try to prevent it. Across the world, there were those vested with Great Spirit, who dealt with the toing and froing of life, the good news and the bad, the opinions of friends, the veritable suitcase of truths, which ones do you choose or believe, or do you pretend. Soaking it up and forgetting it a few minutes later, sounded like good advice, there was no point giving room to gibberish inside yourself, unless it was a comedy you were watching.

He was talking with an old friend, Solomon, that is, be amazed with what Heart Love can do, it brings out the light, it’s that simple. The affirmation arrives again, and again, signs from the heavens, the world is changing, it’s time to be yourselves, the real you, not the doubles partner you pretend to be, amen.

The Dark inside

Bitten by a dog, the child is young, develops a phobia, doctor calls it normal, given the experience. Everyone agrees, who could recover from such an experience, a young man, full of spirit and intense with his ideals, wants to see the best in everything, wants to see evil punished, believes in his country, well, someone better will come along. You are now a marine sir, is soon sent to Vietnam, returns shell shocked, addicted, life is never to same, the expert says so, everyone agrees, who could recover from such an experience. Others call it a disability, a situation you can’t deal with, but a situation others can handle, so you are different, based on your experiences; are we agreed, yes we are!.

25% of the world, addicted in some form, the numbers are actually higher in truth, so many of us are good at disguise, he is busy all the time, she is a career girl, busy. Turn on the TV, listen to the radio, what is your profile, what time of day, advertise laxatives to the elderly, advertise underwear to the young, one group interested in being able to live with a little dignity, the others group interested in personal appearances; the dark inside, getting the balance right.

Solomon heard of fishing, it had been going on a long time.
