Unstable Leaders….

Where’s common sense gone, bickering and back biting, police on the streets, protesters, the army more important than health care, everyone doubting, new ideas running out, chaos, as the two giants of politics meet in the amphitheater, hoping to convince the voter, who is bombarded with twenty four seven news, sights of violence and fear on TV, confused thinking, wealth deemed the winning cause, you’ll do better with us, can this be a picture of the United States today, the so called leader of the free world, seriously.

Too much time spent of making money and not enough on creating community usually ends in chaos for all, it’s the story of the family, where the father figure spends all his time working while ignoring the emotional needs of the family, it all fall apart’s, and it leads to recrimination and blame thereafter, as to why it happened.

A man rushes in the door, he has a lot to hide, he does his best to distract his partner, rushes her around, haven’t time to speak, we’ll talk about this later, Hal she says, not now, there is a big meeting in the office later, there is talk of a takeover, it’s real big, she sighs to herself, we’ll talk about it later. After so many great schemes that never are, there is nothing to talk about later.

Denial, a condition of the human mind, tomorrow, eventually the tomorrows are all spent cleaning up the yesterdays that were ignored in the hope of tomorrow, it’s all about today, Jesus tells us.

The virus was more than a massive threat to humanity, it was an opportunity to stall the direction the world was heading in, time to think. Those who were planning on the propaganda war for the coming election would be wise to read about the ancient prophets, Esdras in particular, amen.

Jesus was tempted Regularly…

And so he warned his followers, there will be tempting and teasing, as there is every day, what are you missing, see what you lost, you could have had an easier life, you could have been this, what did you do with your life, this was the regular taunting of God’s people, and has been, come on, you can have it easy, look, there are no worries over here, we can fix everything, Jesus even warned and reminded the followers, the demon who thinks he has charge of the world, has no power over me He said, but don’t you worry, I will send the Holy Spirit, and that Help, will get you over the line, just don’t panic, amen.

Solomon had a dream or was sent a dream, he traveled a life of another, while there was another soul, hell bent on destroying the life he was viewing, competing almost, anyway, during the dream he told the visitor, Don’t you Believe in the Almighty God, and the visitor disappeared, amen. In a nutshell, hold firm thought Solomon, you faith will be challenged regularly, and you will get tested, and same as the virus, you will have to take precautions to preserve that Faith, the space you reserve for God inside you to dwell.

Mothers and Our World

What we take for granted, well she is the one who always hangs around, the one voice we can turn to, as if God Himself was alive inside of everyone. The miracle of birth, and there are those who claim they have been put down, it’s usually those who have had to deal with pain, the grievances that have to find a way out. Solomon reflected, His Own Mother being a fine lady, the face that you could seek out without worry or care. Those were the days, and what child was afraid to tell his or her mother anything or ask for anything. I suppose it’s why there is such worship for the Mother of the Lord, the woman who bore Him.

Today, Solomon sighed, with a few tears, how there were many little ones, afraid or made fearful of telling their mother what needed to be said, the mountain of fears poured into the general media, getting a lodging place inside very delicate hearts, it was a mute point, missed by all the so called experts. If you are afraid to tell your mother, what happens to that stuff you need to let out from inside you. The media had over cooked itself, and sowed such harm, they needed to take a leaf out of Solomon’s book of wisdom, who was and is trusted by God, every word you speak will be used against you.

Even the online world had to ask itself, had it any responsibility, or did they all play the silent game, as if they were trying to avoid the truth. Solomon encountered the Great Spirit, no boast, just a reminder to all, the Kingdom of God is inside you, learn fast, amen.

Marriage Women Men and God…

Why does a bird just get up and fly, have you ever asked why, or does the bird have to explain it, it just does it. Why do marriages in the entertainment industry tend to fail, is it the attention seeking, the focus in rather than the look out, how some are filled with a sense of their own preciousness, me, mine, is there room for such talk in a world of Love, as marriage is supposed to be that. Why do you dress like that, how often do you hear that question, you never dress up for me, then it’s out the door, then the wait, till they return.

Solomon was reflecting on the challenge that faces those that love earnestly, who do not want to become cynics, as so many of their friends are, when will you get sense, and the feelings that have to go without nourishment. The papers were full of news, the usual suspects were trying to stall the corrections necessary for the world to work for the better of all, same as an old dress hanging in the closet, it’s there but no one is going to wear it, its’ just a reminder. Solomon read about the exploits of Abraham, a man who had won God’s approval, a man of righteousness. Did God spy on Abraham in the bedroom, does God Spy on horses in the field, men do all those things. Did God count the number of wives Abraham had in those times, did he put a number on the times Abraham let his hair down, you wonder.

The twenty first century since those times, fifteen hundred years since the time of the establishment of Islam, and Abraham is considered the father of all, it’s written in ancient words, so why would men in these times, assume that men made rules could ever overcome the will of God, and have they tried. The Pope Francis was trying to bring up to date meaning to words lost in translation, same as other Spiritual leaders trying to lead their people to the light. Solomon sighed, it has to be from the Heart, and it has to be love of a Jesus scale, amen.

She is unwell, her mind can’t handle the modern world of speed, all roads leading down the same path, so called progress. Ambition overcomes her man, the love was once existed, and still does, hides under bales of pride, man made of course, while her Spirit drifts. She is no good for my career, he should have married his job instead.

Old Time

The do’s and the don’ts, the rule book was pretty well defined, the rural and the country, those street savvy, those country wise, how the townies looked down on the country cousin, so unsophisticated, behind in the trends, from the backwater dear, what do you expect, they haven’t seen a barber in years, and they come to shop twice a year. The movement of people, the slide to the city, adoption of city life, neighbors, you get to know them, you form your community, usually same culture, ethnic or otherwise, a few bad experiences you hear about, the move to the ghetto, the commencement of a life, that builds barriers around you, well, she doesn’t look like us, he has strange ways, but at least there is safety in numbers.

Solomon was looking back, finding as point in time, what it was like to be a child, the expectations and the guidelines, the do’s and the don’t’s, had all that much changed. The gap of poverty was huge, insurmountable almost, women calling to the door, alms given, see you next week missus, the fear of crime, what you might read in a newspaper. TV time, never allowed to watch anything after 11, adult time, no exceptions, you don’t want to be bamboozling the heads, they will learn soon enough for themselves. Anyone encouraging a lapse into easy living, looked at, every negative influence looked down on.

That old pace of life, a pace so many long for now in this busy time. It wasn’t impossible, just a little planning. As for influences in our lives though, were we loosing that neighbor hood bit, as the new neighborhood was a long way from the street or road you lived on. Whatever the changes, God is the same all the time.

Dreaming Black Friday

books are banned, look this way, they are not us, the rules we are imbibed with, it’s as if our thoughts are decided for us, there is a sale, we all look, is there any place where we can find peace. Dreaming, what we recall, do we see the life out there, and more importantly, there is more to you than you think. As for white this and that, what is a color anyway. It’s Christmas time, the memory of the Birth of Jesus, the refugee, on the move, the local tyranny, the Roman empire, trying to impose control. Now it’s the Friday to shop your life away, the big stores prepared, the small shop a poor relation, well, they don’t sell it, but at least they are local. How we sell our lives, and our community away, to satisfy a short term need, is this what we did to the environment.

Jesus taught us, we are Gods, all of us, but you have to create space inside, a clean up in other words. Solomon was trying to get his head around this Friday thing, all those minds with bargains on the mind, what a way to treat your life. If it was pink Tuesday, well, what does it matter, amen.

Breakfast Feast

I’m hungry, she is tired of hearing those words, she is a mile from the white house, roaming the streets of the most powerful city in the world, she is not alone. Downtown, they pour over dishes their lobbyists pay for, while the shelters turn people away. They have eyes but can’t see, is there a message in that, they wont attend a meeting either unless they get paid expenses. I’m hungry he says again, she feels the change in her pocket, soon she says.

Solomon sighed, a deep heart felt sigh, the love connects the light shines, the words of Jesus are made real; allow God to reside inside you and transform your life, it’s that simple.

She gets a seat in a side cafe, it’s Irish owned, the manager is an Irish Emigrant woman, she serves the biggest breakfasts in town. From the counter she watches the eyes of the small one, how he watches the tray laden with food for another table pass close by. His eyes widen, a little hopeful smile appears, i’ll be having that soon. Her heart breaks each time she see’s that expression on a small face, hoping. As for the loud mouth campaigners, they make the noise and then hide behind their private gates; do they say such words of thoughtfulness just to antagonize us all. Mary is practical; hunger can’t wait. if only one of them.. if only one had the courage of their words, some day, some day she hopes.

It Couldn’t Happen to Me….9/11

How often we look at others, our eyes turn down, for a moment or two, as we try to digest what it feels like, or how lucky we feel, it wont happen to me, they don’t seem too well, how could they cope with it, their loss our escape, lucky us, how long do we read the news from afar, the casualty list, the numbers, do we think of families or is it our luck we are sizing up, lucky me. How lives can change with dramatic affect, for all time. Solomon recalled the morning news, all those years before, the seeming animated picture, this could not be real, not live on TV, it has to be a computer generation, then the reality a minute later, that’s real people, that was real jet fuel, that is real life and it’s before the eyes of the world. How one day can alter so much. History teaches us, anything can happen, and old scripture reminds us, there is another life.

Solomon listened to the news, the anniversary, the where were you moment as it were, and the decisions made afterwards, to start a war, and the results thereafter, when the call for a great peace was lost in the big talk, we’ll get even, regardless of the cost, the soldiers return home years later, shell shocked, the desire for guns increasing daily, the nationalistic calls, revenge and security, we have the power. The Roman empire wanted to dominate the world through force, or fear, God had other plans, the memorials still exist, to remind us, war does not work, it only leads to worse.

Mothers, fathers brothers sisters, when did revenge do it for you, or what did revenge do for you; usualy caused more need for guns, and the mentality that using force brings, hatred usually, amen. Jesus pleaded forgiveness, knew how our thoughts are formed, the baggage that destroys, those bitter memorires that you save up, for that great moment, same as the viagra hidden in the shaving bag, for use when you could not do it yourself, but there in the bag, in order to save your pride. Well, in a world thar that wants immediate satisfaction, there are no buffer zones, or patience. Amen

Moses and the Burning Bush

Lightning, the sky lights up, from nowhere, a bolt of light descends from the Sky, air traffic control that was close, missed by inches, a loud crack, the terror and screams nearby, it could have hit us. Solomon listened to the news, he was burning the green at the time, then heard the news, could it be real, the earth was on fire,

fire it seems. If a healthy environment is our get out of jail card, then everyone on the planet was getting a reminder, and as in olden times, when God chose to use a burning bush to communicate with his Prophet, many thousands of years later, the same was happening again. There were those bent on the destruction of the living environment for real short term gain, as if we hadn’t enough palm oil already.

Yes, the various environments needed support; the creator could only do so much, our free will does the rest, choices. A student of the ancient texts and striving to get a clearer impression of what it all means, Solomon thought the timing of the burning bush was apt, given that some world Leaders were meeting together, and talk was of the burning bush, not that it was meant to appear on the agenda, but when fire rages, who can afford to ignore it. Imagine, they meet up, discuss, never once wondering, if the fate of the burning bush, was a clear message to them, well, leaders lead, they don’t build castles in the sky.

Thirty thousand feet, the engine wobbles, everyone on the jet trembles, former certainty wanes, could this happen to us as well, yes it could sighed Solomon. Stories such as Moses and the burning bush, are there to remind us, of the many ways God communicates with us; this is a living planet and it does not belong to you, amen.

Old Boy Blues

This can’t be happening Cardinal, it does not appear in any of our texts, it seems to be from the other Book, they don’t want to mention the word, why, it will mean extending their vision of compassion, it’s a touchy subject and they have got used to control, why would they ever dream of ever giving up that. You mean we are not the only ones, the setting, can’t you see it, 2,000 years earlier, the same argument between the Pharisee’s, as they gather to discuss the words of Jesus, anxious that he is getting a hearing and the crowds, worse still, they are listening to him, and he is even doing what the divine can only do, or is it demons.

The thought of eating without the ritual cleaning, and all sorts of food is fine with him, damn it, if this is allowed to go on, it’s going to make our rules and regulations meaningless, how did we allow it they sigh. Power, the old problem, and the zealots who are certain of their authority, enforceable authority, able at will, to undermine, well, when you imagine it, they put Jesus on the cross, hoping it was the ending of him, little did they know, it was only the beginning, and it’s being growing ever since, The Power of Spirit, and how it works to overcome the instincts that destroy us. Old boy blues, how can they explain this?.

Solomon sighed, the sun bursts from the Sky, the approval from on High, and no set of rules to coral it, just sweet simplicity. The old men could be discussing the fate of Joan of Arc, it could be anyone of Great Spirit, what happens, as Jesus said, they murdered the prophets and then afterwards, praised them. He was reading a book, the green cup of wisdom, words in the Islam Holy Book, is mentioned in the story, as for other words, they prophecy the Return of Jesus, too. In the end, the goal is the same, there are those who hold the words on high and repeat them, and there are those who acknowledge them, but don’t follow them, in the middle, the Wisdom of Jesus, solves all problems, for those who use them, same as good medication, taken with care, amen.
