Old Too Young

Bullies the older ones, gets away with it too, knows how to use words, can use past hurts, has no emotions whatsoever, has been beaten when young, imagines this is the way to get along, it’s the law of the jungle his father said, you have to be tough he said, he was in the middle of a little light refreshment, the belt in his hands, he was counting the welts on his small son’s back, never forget he shouts, the boy is afraid to cry, you get hit for that, he waits for his father to stop, then it will be happy faces again. The day is forgotten, the next day, he is in the play ground, there is an argument, it’s only a matter of time, before he puts his skills to the test, if he gets thrown out of school, he’ll get a reward when he gets home, well, his brother got his first bottle of vodka for the achievement, too old, his eyes are slanted, they are not wide open and wondering, there is no awe, it’s a case of what is there for me, that’s all, old too young.

Solomon sighed, the season of Christmas, the well being of Spirit, the time when the welfare of others ring the bells inside. He watched the Child, the eyes half closed, no excitement in them, they weren’t dashing here and there, instead, there was something cold, he wondered, when you see a face, you see the life, when you see it in one so young, there can’t be many doubts, old too young.

Young mother has committed herself to a life time relationship, much too young to make such a commitment, she has a child now, one on the way, he regularly beats her, well, he is passing it on, there is a life and this is the way, she is not looking forward to Christmas, no violence is all she wants and a few toys for the child, and the hope her children escape the misery that her life has become. Much too young, afraid of violence, can’t open her mouth, suffers depression, a never ending circle. Solomon sighed, once it goes in writing, it goes places, and then the good stuff happens, he’d seen it happen so often, just paint it with words, amen.

Glum News

“hatred is the disease that love is the cure for”

Are all those frowns fashion or fake, the two old guys sit with their coffee, the afternoon sun is shining and the world is passing by, the good old days Sam smiles, yeah, chuck twists his head follows a walker down the street, the way the body moves, is stiff, is unnatural, it’s as if she is walking down a long catwalk, the face is sour and her beauty is smeared, she looses so much of her light with the pout she wears, it has to be fashion muses Sam, no one that good looking could be so glum.

She pouts before the mirror imitating the women she watches on TV, looking miserable is the new fashion statement, another one passes by equally fine the same stride on her, copying each other, what’s wrong sighs Sam, she has the air of a giraffe with a bee sting on her ass, humping along the long frown , there’s another one, a new sort of race replies his buddy, life is not all that bad but you would never believe it by the look on their face.

Whatever happened to the smile asks Sam, it used to be normal to have one, he sips his coffee, the way people put on a face these days, no wonder so many are confused, you’d think they are all poker players, something like that, all pretending.

Solomon read the stories of old, the joy that was in the heart of the believer, passing on the sunshine, the well being of others central to the well being of all, so much for all the acting he sighs, glum news, life is a gift and even death wasn’t the end of the affair, just the beginning of the next one, no glum news in that. He recalls the words of Jesus, the yoke piled on the believers, the stress they heaved on the shoulders of those who believed, and what did He say, listen to the words all right, but don’t imitate ALL

what they do, many lead people astray. The extremists who were trying to divide people ought better realize it he sighed, Heaven is real, have no doubts about it, amen.

Global Warming

“you mean we aren’t responsible for global warming” asked daisy, who was seated at the rear of the class. it was a bunch of ten year olds, Solomon was filling in for the regular teacher, had no class prepared, the head teacher just asked him to supervise, kill the hour with them, surf the net, whatever, so long as they don’t make noise, okay!.

He sounds like my elderly aunt he thought as he walked the corridor, thinking, what would be a good subject to chat about, he was a good talker, and children love good stories. What’s in their own interests, make it personal for them, but not too personal. My Dad is an alcoholic and my mother is in rehab, how cool is that, no, not that reality, a little else, what is in the interests of children. They like animals, who doesn’t, they

like flowers, is this cheesy he thought as he entered the class. It was his first week as a newly trained teacher and he was getting used to it. Being a role model in the lives of the young was a big responsibility, they ought to pay us more he thought, his hand feeling the credit card bill he slipped into his pocket that morning, half his first weeks wages would go with it.

Mrs Murphy is sick and I’ll be taking over the hour he said.

He wrote on the board, in big letters. 70% of the worlds species are extinct or facing extinction.

Are we responsible for killing animals said daisy, whose father was a farmer, as well as thrashing the environment. My dad says you have to drill twice as deep these days to get clean water.

You are not responsible for global warning either, we are, my generation are!

so what are you going to do to fix it then asked Aaron. We can always hire a lawyer and force you by the way, that’s what they say, if they damage your prospects make them pay.  Can children take lawsuits to force the government to do the right thing regards the environment asked another ten year old.

Aaron turned around, if they can impeach Donald they can do anything. Trumpie!!
