Stop Stop Stop

What, I can’t hear you, she shouts, he can’t hear that well, he is always complaining, if this was like that, the old days, the future days, all he does is complain. Stop, you are doing my head in. Who needs to hear about it every day, it does her head in. She raises the volume on the TV, it dims his words, why worry she thinks, her favorite character in the soap is about to propose to her love sweet heart, her eyes are glistening, the semblance of tears, the feeling you get, when the emotions are on the rise. Go on she says, ask her, shut up will you, If only I had ear phones, she wouldn’t have to hear him complain, she’d be able to focus on the moment, yes she says, good on you girl, it’s the first time she has seen a woman get on her knees to propose. Soap opera’s, they get you to focus on the now.

Jesus said the same, it starts today. There were many burdened by their past, carrying loads, they did not know how to unload. Jesus reminds us; put your trust in the Holy Father, learn his ways, and he will take all burdens off your shoulders, amen. When you are at your weakest, God is stronger inside you, amen.

Mental Illness Fatigue

Cant eat, can’t sleep, twisting in the bed, no interest, lethargic, don’t even wanna dress, food, no appetite, strange thoughts too, and no interest in my face book page either, the Doctor nods, any other symptoms, She pauses, what more can there be, does he listen at all. I am going to prescribe some medications he says. She wants to hit him, is this it, it this all he can say, I’m going to prescribe medication. She is in Love.

Solomon wondered how it was possible to tell someone with a mental health issue, to wait three months or six months, for a therapists appointment, while the condition just worsened in the time in between, as if the mind harm would just go away. Is this it, is this how we deal with mental health issues.

Ever visit a patient or friend down in the dumps, ever wonder about it, most of the time all they need is time, a voice, a listener, a chance to reset the mind clock. It isn’t rocket science.

Corruption, the money they stole, the services that never arrived, and the promise thereafter, we will never do that again. God is mercy, God is compassion, but there is a limit, and when we start of undo our own well being, well…..if so many are experiencing stress and anxiety and seeking forms of escape, it would make one assume, that the entire planet was a head case, from which so many were trying to escape.

You Measure Me…

What do you see she asks, her face is covered by a mask, she has only heard his voice. She didn’t want to meet him, the dream might then end, she is afraid of being rejected, and it’s a feeling her heart cannot bear. The mobile phone, the connection, her words will never be rejected. Her fears are based on what she reads and what the media produces. The President is surrounded by blondes, rich men, and powerful friends, what good am I.

Her Father is anxious, her mother distraught, their sixteen year old daughter is anorexic, and close to death, her bones show through her flesh, she resembles a concentration camp survivor, it would be hard to tell them alike. What are we going to do, what are we going to do, we are going to lose our baby her mother cries. …

Solomon listened to the words of ancient scripture, a habit of his. Listen to the words of God, there is life in them, and many warnings.

“Those in authority will be dealt with severely when the time comes!”

Solomon is on the street, minding his business, he hears the angry words of a demon, he stops, thinks for a few seconds, says a prayer. The noisy demon runs for cover. So you are unwell, imagine David as he faced Goliath, no one gave him a chance, except himself and God, the rest is history.

My Afternoon

First question you hear, he or she comes in the door, the first words out of the mouth, how was your day,, then the story is told, it begins with the same question, same with friends who haven’t met for awhile, what are you up to. The question has many answers, and can cause a return to a moment or period in time, then we talk of those days, the recall, that’s how we used to spend the afternoon; your young, it’s Sunday or Saturday, you have your friends over, if your lucky enough, there is a show on the TV, maybe a movie, there is engagement, everyone understands what the others are doing, you are all together for a purpose, to enjoy each others company. So this is what you did during the afternoon, as you get older, play time is later, the activities a little freer, as you become a little more surer. Step to step, the tree house first, the neighbors, friends, the local mall, the city, the overseas vacation, each step an extension in your life.

Solomon was reflecting on experiences, how we arrive at different places, why we stop outside a church, why we think of others while were inside there, how we feel a different way when we are outside, how we react to people we don’t know, how we continue to build as we go. So from your simple question, how was your afternoon, you have by the time you get to the end of the afternoon, the opportunity to reflect on what you did during your afternoon, and what was it that made it.

A busy woman, on her way to a meeting, she is in a hurry, wants to make time, rushes across the road, misses the bus, and stops on the pavement, the exertion having triggered a murmur in her chest, she is doubly anxious, and out of breath, she puts the gym on her to do list, her profile of herself has grown. There are so many ways our lives twist and turn, a sign  in the window, I need a pair of shoes, the color of her dress, and the party you recall wearing it at.

There are so many influences in our lives sighed Solomon, some productive, some down right destructive. So how was your afternoon he asked himself, what was it that stood out as the preacher used to say, telling us in this way, that we had choices, and choices led to decision, then to actions, good bad or indifferent, it all adds up, same as this afternoon.

Music Words Rhythm….R..

Lasting impressions, the music that sticks, it is more than memory, it’s emotions. The song is from a time past, you might have heard it as a child, it could have been the first time you felt a Spiritual presence, it is lots of things. Funny how the big ego stuff never makes the cut, too much of the artist too little of the talent, distractions. Solomon sighed, there are moments in your life, the first time you escaped out the back window, climbed down the roof, hopped onto the ground and hurried off to the gig, with friends of course, never with those unknown. Young, the rules don’t matter that much, same as your hormones, you hear the music, inside you start to blaze as the rhythm runs through, your naive ideal and young, haven’d suffered the fears of the elders; well they are more experienced, its’ not your fault or theirs, and nearly all the time you get home safe. There is no darkness, the world is yours, its a choice.

Then you age, the experiences build up, the cover up begins, there are problems at home, stuff you want to hide, it could be an addictive parent, it could be anything.

Solomon sighed, It’s wonderful to think that God is the same to all, amen, the eternal friend never deserts you, unlike those who want from you. Solomon was reliving a night many years before, not old enough to vote either, but the memory lived on, in a corner of his mind. Music with real Spirit has great power, I hope you have a good listen, amen.

Head Thrash

To spend an hour getting the crease right, get angry, getting upset, getting wound up, feelings you will have forgotten an hour later, only to get annoyed in the office, when a junior makes a mess, an opportunity to show your credentials, imposing your will over another human being, same as the tramp who becomes a millionaire after winning the lotto, who starts imposing his will over those who looked down on him, because he can, and everyone bowing and smiling at what they were repulsed by, cause they now want a share of what he has now, not that they had any notion of sharing his anxiety or distress. Is that a description, or just a throw away comment; but then again there are those who dress to impress, sort of fool us, as if their beauty will distract us and we will not be interested in anything else. Head thrash sighed Solomon. The lowest common denominator, had changed, sex and money had been replaced by the environment, times were changing.

The Preacher and the Power..and Bob Dylan…

Wow, they really respect me, there is a lot they will do for me, the town is mid west, there are swathes of people heading west, the pioneers, many led by preacher men, seeking the gold and their dream homes, a reasonable dream their spirits need some drive, the main decides to hire, the man of words who can stir everyone, the trek continues the pilgrims struggle on, the river is in sight, we will rest here says the preacher man, there is baptism on his mind, this religious business comes with its own rewards, see the respect they have, now that is saying some. The human is a deep soul, there are many lives lived hidden in your blood, the stories of generations, same as those intolerance’s we pass on, a matter of habit.

The times were changing, there was great hope in many hearts, and there are those who will gladly deceive, fools and their dreams are easily parted, apart from their money. Solomon was reading from Esdras, the old prophet was listening to the angel, who was advising him of the world to come, Esdras had many questions, the angel is patient, and gives him the signs. 2,800 years later, the recall of Esdras had much in common with current times. May our Spiritual guides be attempting unity in all that is good sighed Solomon, rather than building  business’s for themselves. Amen..

At least share a little more, earn a few brownie points..maybe
