Can You Hear The Voice….

Beauty hides in the most strangest places, the stuff we surround the head with, the mental picture of the vision we see, the other stuff you learned, well, you thought you knew, the idea of that face producing a sound like that, isn’t that the same way we see a bird, we don’t consider the feathers or how green red or blue it looks, those thoughts are not in your head, your looking at nature, your not trying to analyse it, it’s there, it exists, it’s something you want to listen to, just the voice, it catches our ear, connects with a peace inside us.

The picture in our heads, how we zone in with the eyes, can it be for real, the sweet noise, the picture, what, the voice and sight does not register, it’s the way we see it, the stuff we learned, so this is what we think. Solomon was listening to the voice, the noise was sweet, but the presentation wasn’t exactly great, not what he was used to. The simplicity, it was as if another lesson was learned, how we assume that which we do not understand, can produce such a noise. He recalled the news of the singer on stage, the voice, then the source of the noise, out of reach mentally, not the picture we had of the voice. Is this how those with sight loss see it, with a different sense, or was that How God inside us saw it, amen. We seem so regulated internally, as if we don’t believe it, where did the voice come from after all…

More Than Life Itself….

How often we hear those words, I love you more than life itself, it’s depth of meaning, words that every mother has written in her heart, her love for her children, is greater than all the other love she has. The work begins after the honey moon ends. This week is an anniversary for many reasons, the ending of the first great war, and the lives given, in order to prevent the same happening again. In a world of conflict, where common ground is rare, we all want to be successful, your religion differs from mine, you pray Sundays, we do it everyday, Saturday is better for us, well, I do it every other day, as they say, there are many areas of contention, and when it comes to choosing sides, it’s easy to get dragged into issues, just because we are made aware of all these differences. I don’t think Jesus would have shared our differences, and when His life is examined closely, and all religions lay claim to his Being, he made a point of meeting and dining with all, for Him, it was a question of passing on the Spirit, regardless of your faith or circumstance. 2,000 years later, there are signs appearing on a daily basis, all saying the same thing, reform. So if we Love as we claim to do, and if we have Faith, as billions claim to do, it’s time to regard our differences, the same way we regard flowers in the garden; well, we all love flowers, amen.

Ponder This..

Our voices, stolen, those in the limelight, selling their wares, offering voices, but stealing from us all the time. Solomon reflected, the great unfairness, how those with power, given Godly talents, used them to build stores for themselves, amen.

My makeup does not look good, the nails need to be done, does this sound good, what will the others think. To Solomon, the impressions  we hope to create,

in the hope that our peers will salute us, was nothing compared to the Power of God, and the divine plan. If they are suffocating from their material excess’s, they will one day have to leave it all behind, and then, it’s their soul that will matter and nothing else, so what will your legacy be, amen?

Romeo and the Rules

Love lost and found, Milton, the bard of Avon, the dangerous journeys, the stories written into our histories, the impossible victories, the great rescues, Samson, and his last act, David over coming the odds, there is much to remind us of the highs and lows we face everyday, and so much encouragement, did they really do that.

A mother sets out with a boat load of strangers, a flimsy craft that would not qualify for insurance, the worries she feels by passed by the freedom she hopes to find. West side story, he is not good enough, she comes from a broken home, the strange ways we are instructed in wisdom. Then the faith barriers, the rules of the organisation, how we prepare for prayer, what we eat, who we see, how we engage with others, will he change his religion, it used to be a catholic protestant thing, how will they raise the children, the Indian girl who falls in love with the boy from the wrong caste, the oaths that are taken to satisfy religious practice.

There are so many barriers to love, arrangements we have to follow, until the word expands, and understanding of the meaning of love explodes, when there is finally change. So many rules, lessons, when love does not own anything at all, yet the plans we make to control it, something we don’t even own or can ever own.

Solomon had friends from many faiths, and the faith never got in the way,¬† not in his mind; as he said to a fellow believer; we don’t do it all the same, same as the flowers in the garden, but at our core, we have the same engine, there is one God, and love feels the same, it’s the barriers we put in the way that defines us. Romeo didn’t follow the rules.

Moses and the Burning Bush

Lightning, the sky lights up, from nowhere, a bolt of light descends from the Sky, air traffic control that was close, missed by inches, a loud crack, the terror and screams nearby, it could have hit us. Solomon listened to the news, he was burning the green at the time, then heard the news, could it be real, the earth was on fire,

fire it seems. If a healthy environment is our get out of jail card, then everyone on the planet was getting a reminder, and as in olden times, when God chose to use a burning bush to communicate with his Prophet, many thousands of years later, the same was happening again. There were those bent on the destruction of the living environment for real short term gain, as if we hadn’t enough palm oil already.

Yes, the various environments needed support; the creator could only do so much, our free will does the rest, choices. A student of the ancient texts and striving to get a clearer impression of what it all means, Solomon thought the timing of the burning bush was apt, given that some world Leaders were meeting together, and talk was of the burning bush, not that it was meant to appear on the agenda, but when fire rages, who can afford to ignore it. Imagine, they meet up, discuss, never once wondering, if the fate of the burning bush, was a clear message to them, well, leaders lead, they don’t build castles in the sky.

Thirty thousand feet, the engine wobbles, everyone on the jet trembles, former certainty wanes, could this happen to us as well, yes it could sighed Solomon. Stories such as Moses and the burning bush, are there to remind us, of the many ways God communicates with us; this is a living planet and it does not belong to you, amen.

The Book of Numbers

The little black book, the names and numbers, your codex for life, those you want contact with, then you have the secret book, the one with details of all that is wrong, you roll the finger on the contact list, what can they do for you, who will you contact today, bored or a random selection, the real conversations you have, the frothing mouth as you think there is going to be something in it for you. It’s amazing what used to get our juices flowing, the drama, the rubber necking, did someone die in that accident, did he really have all that money, thinking numbers, but really only wishing they were yours. Human nature sighed solomon.

A mute point, Solomon was reading the book of numbers, and every time he looked, he reads the list, the items taken along for the journey, the responsibility of each clan, where they were to stand in the procession of the lords presence and tent, every dot measured, even how you deal with family issues, in a world dedicated to the Lord your God, and the promise of proctection and care for those who were considered good guardians of the Lords Earth.¬† why was there such detail recorded, surely it wasn’t to amuse us, it had to be a method of teaching us. So here we are, thousands of years later, at a time when much of the old scriptures is coming to pass. Imagine your name in the book of the living, the promise of eternity, then your name in book of the dead, and the promise of eternal destruction. It’s wise to be mindful in these times, amen.

Solomon encountered the Spirit, the One God Sends, and found he had been endowed with a few gifts, and the challenge was, how do you use them; do you seek gain for yourself or do you cast your hopes wide and try to include others, the choice. it’s as simple as that. Do you do what the rebellious israelites did at the time of Moses; Moses goes away to worship and talk with the Lord, meanwhile a few loud mouths encourage the Israelites to worship and offer sacrifices to Demons, out of a feeling of security, maybe Moses is not coming back. Imagine Moses, full of the light, happy, got the approval he sought, and proctection for his, the Lords people, imagine the plans he had in mind, happy and full of joy, same as the feeling you might have if you won a new car, and there it sits in the drive, you smile, the smell of the new leather seats, what a joy. Then the local thug next door arrives and produces a sledge hammer, and attempts to demolish the car, your Joy. Well, There is Moses, open your eyes, he spots them from afar, gets closer, has a panic attack, what are they doing, worshipping Gold, an idol, what have they done, and 23,000 dropped dead in the desert, as Moses anger was felt by the lord. As Jesus would say, listen fast if you have ears and you want a share in the world to come, amen.

The Good Samaritans

Faith, political party , ethnic group, skin color, age, what does it matter what you pray if your deeds contradict what you plead, do you think it’s words alone, Solomon was talking with a pal, going on a journey, he exchanged a few ideas, the anxieties of parents was discussed, as when a child becomes an adult, when a son or daughter leaves the home for college. Does a bird worry when he leaves the nest, is there a big anxiety on the part of the parent birds, do they fret about what they heard, the anxieties of others, well, why should it matter you say, a girl on a journey, the fear of those waiting for her to return, the initial anxieties, then the relaxation, when it turns out all right, as it mostly does. what did we worry for. The parents want to hear the story of the kind stranger who gave her the right directions, the landlord who provided a clean living arrangement, the thoughtful shop keeper who welcomes her, good reference points. Every day, regardless of what you claim, it’s how you deal with the simple stuff usually that identifies you. Every day we get a chance to be a good Samaritan, and it costs nothing. As we add to the good list, we inspire that Spirit in others, it’s really that easy, to be a good Samaritan. AS Jesus says, his words being living words, we help everyone when we raise the Spirit in others. amen
