INN Keeping with the Spirit…

She pulls her bag, the shoppers pass by, she is not covered in smiles, quite the opposite. She wants to get home, she is safe there. Just feeling safe, there is a lot for her to worry about, her friends have gone their ways, she rarely hears from them, booze and anxiety causes separation, its’ a busy world. God will help me, she prays a lot, Her Faith is based on her deeds; she has given a lot and not asked for much in return. Her bag clinks, it’s a lonely time, she wants her time out, the past can be hard to bare. She toiled with the oppressed, gave more than most, now her Spirit weeps, she is in need of a revival.

Inn Keeping with the Spirit, sighed Solomon, and difficulty with the birth, the lack of space, the need to find a shelter, for the young life inside her to survive, or for the Spirit inside her to revive. Many stories are told, the beautiful Jesus, the wealthy visitors with the gifts for the new King, the threat against the new Spirit. There are many ways to interpret Christmas, but in keeping with the Spirit, finding a suitable space for the Spirit to revive, could be the answer to all our problems, just as the story suggests, amen.

A tribute to a long passed friend, who was there for many, but fell foul of the demons, be blessed, amen.

Young Eyes

Four years old, forty years old, sixty years old, the eyes are still young, it’s how you view things. Young, you want to see more, old, you’ve seen too much, in the middle, you want to see some more. Everyone has their own interpretation. The church elders see the season, they call it commercial Christmas, too much based on selling, well, we do call it the season of giving, are we supposed to feel bad, do you want us to fall to the misery of others.

Solomon saw the young eyed lady, well, she was bored, waiting for her guardian to get her coffee over with, I want to go home and share my days with my other friends, there is a feeling of sharing inside, everyone compares, that’s called being human. What is the difference between an oak and a willow, they are all trees the cynic says, so the cynics say, and Christmas has become too commercial, not really. Lured to buy presents for others is no social disorder.

Solomon wished there were more Christmas moments in the world, when people felt empathy towards each other, and in his opinion, it applied to all the faiths, amen.

The Healing Words of Jesus…

In the material, there is not much of the Spirit, and how this addiction to stuff has harmed the environments, all of them, is anyone’s guess. Of course there is help, but sometimes pride gets in the way; have I the ability to ask, every heart has to ask, did I close it off just to make others happy, did I side with those who made me feel comfortable, did I ever take a stand, did I go with the herd, did I ever really listen, to the Healing Words of Jesus, no deception. it’s inside you, space is needed, and there are those who will do their utmost to get you to follow their ways. Jesus had no way, his faith in God the Father, all credit to the Father, no idols either, why, well, as the papers remind us daily, we seem to take enjoyment watching them fall, call it envy, call it jealousy, call it what you like, the papers fill us with this sort of news, and see how easy it is, to push those buttons inside you. You only have to conjure up a name, then you apply a scandal, people are easily led.

But as Jesus said; how you judge others is how you will be judged, there is no escape from this. And if you transgress and say harmful things of the Holy Spirit, well, if you need to ask…you haven’t read the Healing words of Jesus. there is no boutique religion or tradition, no compassion, none shown, forgive and you can be forgiven, amen.

Woman Eyes Man….

It’s a different world, those in total power don’t feel so total anymore, they don’t eye up the girls as they used to, not in the workplace. Images, in the head, what is lying in the head, do they measure the size of your butt as well. She walks down the boulevard, she is no nonsense, she eyes two men coming her way, she throws a glance at them, they turn their heads to the side, avoiding her stare, what are you looking at she says under her breath. That is more like it, she walks on, her stride is purposeful, no goofball here she says, even if she sometimes wears a tin pot over her head, but that’s private.

She loves animals, adores cats, adores all living creatures, she is a Spirit straight from the cookbook of mother nature, well, she enjoys clean water, the outdoor life, clean crisp air, doesn’t mind getting dirty, she just enjoys being well. It started at school, she had a dream. She wasn’t the class A girl, she sat at the rear, did enough to get by, not much else, she wanted to figure it out for herself. Was not going to be bullied, had seen too much of it, even the nuns were in awe of the priest, too much so.

Years later she is on the journey, she is a wisdom seeker, she follows a trail, there is a voice she hears, it seems to fit her well, it allows her to relax, she can be silly, it’s all right to be a little crazy, who doesn’t need to unwind. The voice is what matters she tells herself. She arrives in the town, she has done research, she is getting close, even the weather is improving, it used to rain all the time, not so much now they tell her. Frequency survivor she calls herself, the air is so full, the information moving seamlessly and what it’s doing to animals, mother nature, those that are sensitive, are all being harmed by this world that revolves around invisible rays. But she is hopeful, the news from on High, points to an Earth that appears to be recharging itself, so the vibrations say, has it anything to do with the voice. She is on a walkabout, there is a cafe in the dream, she saw it clearly, saw the signpost, she spots it on a side street, I’m here.

In a matter of seconds she begins to relax, will I recognize him she wonders. Eggs with a slice of spinach across and coffee black he says while at the front desk, the voice, was it the rhythm of the words, she sits up. If only she could be certain. Woman eyes man….the story continues….

Solomon smiled, it was a great story, and while there is so much that is wrong, it’s not impossible, the problem being, so many were being lured to different paths, their anxieties forcing them to take a position. He loved animals too, and the whole outdoor life, but real change to occur, required a new heart on the inside, the transformation. There were also those who tried to help the situation, those sensitive to thought, along with the coterie of those, who wanted things to remain the same while getting well paid for obstructing the lives of real Spirit, our ability to contact with the divine. Solomon sighed, why worry about it, He encountered the Great Spirit, and received blessings, saw the results when the Spirit was being passed out, the real time changes. So you want to change the world; It’s simply this, pass the loving Spirit on, let God take care of the rest, amen.

Head Dress

Don’t we catch ourselves out so easily, the dogma that ties us up in chains, all that is learned, the regulations, how we survive, by gathering up a list of stuff we have to adopt our lives too, so darn predictable. Behind the veil, there is a Spirit, a person, same as in olden times, before divorce and the microwave, changed the way we do things, no need to be worried if you are late for dinner, stick it in the oven, as for divorce, it’s common, it’s just an agreement between lawyers.

The Spirit has to live, it has to breathe, it has to move about, it’s the same as a stream of water, it has to flow. She had bright ideas, but they told her it wasn’t her place to have an opinion, she persists, this is my life, so she is a warrior, she has been chosen for a task, there is so much of the Spirit inside. Slowly and slowly, the Spirit deadens, the mind becomes unbalanced, she is trying to Hold her Spirit. Young man wants to serve God, the teaching authorities decide that you have to lose yourself before you can be programmed to their way of thinking, so it’s seven years before you make an exit from the seminary, when all that is in your head, is what is called foundation, whatever that is supposed to mean.

Solomon wondered at the daily ways souls try to make contact with their divine helpers, the Spirit, the little habits we store inside us, the candle, the little routines we try to build into our busy lives. A thousand thoughts a second are permeating the air, the natural electric charge is heightened, it’s not the same air either, and the growth of stress is approaching epidemic levels, who doesn’t feel the stress, the child in school has got more than textbooks to understand, there is the new social environment as well, it’s pretty heady.

She sits in her room, the head dress is off, she looks at herself in the mirror, tries to re assure herself, she is on medication because she is Spirited, not for any other reason. In the bad old days, they sent them to the Gulag, for retraining, as it’s called, she is well aware, hang on she tells herself, the helper always arrives. Finding the space, is this what the homeless teach us everyday, are they teaching us more, amen.

You Measure Me…

What do you see she asks, her face is covered by a mask, she has only heard his voice. She didn’t want to meet him, the dream might then end, she is afraid of being rejected, and it’s a feeling her heart cannot bear. The mobile phone, the connection, her words will never be rejected. Her fears are based on what she reads and what the media produces. The President is surrounded by blondes, rich men, and powerful friends, what good am I.

Her Father is anxious, her mother distraught, their sixteen year old daughter is anorexic, and close to death, her bones show through her flesh, she resembles a concentration camp survivor, it would be hard to tell them alike. What are we going to do, what are we going to do, we are going to lose our baby her mother cries. …

Solomon listened to the words of ancient scripture, a habit of his. Listen to the words of God, there is life in them, and many warnings.

“Those in authority will be dealt with severely when the time comes!”

Solomon is on the street, minding his business, he hears the angry words of a demon, he stops, thinks for a few seconds, says a prayer. The noisy demon runs for cover. So you are unwell, imagine David as he faced Goliath, no one gave him a chance, except himself and God, the rest is history.

More Than Life Itself….

How often we hear those words, I love you more than life itself, it’s depth of meaning, words that every mother has written in her heart, her love for her children, is greater than all the other love she has. The work begins after the honey moon ends. This week is an anniversary for many reasons, the ending of the first great war, and the lives given, in order to prevent the same happening again. In a world of conflict, where common ground is rare, we all want to be successful, your religion differs from mine, you pray Sundays, we do it everyday, Saturday is better for us, well, I do it every other day, as they say, there are many areas of contention, and when it comes to choosing sides, it’s easy to get dragged into issues, just because we are made aware of all these differences. I don’t think Jesus would have shared our differences, and when His life is examined closely, and all religions lay claim to his Being, he made a point of meeting and dining with all, for Him, it was a question of passing on the Spirit, regardless of your faith or circumstance. 2,000 years later, there are signs appearing on a daily basis, all saying the same thing, reform. So if we Love as we claim to do, and if we have Faith, as billions claim to do, it’s time to regard our differences, the same way we regard flowers in the garden; well, we all love flowers, amen.

An Irish Legend…Gay Byrne

Considering the world is going green, and green is the shoot that pops from the dirt, fills us with tidings of new life, It’s good to recall those that set the stage of change and encouraged understanding during their lives. Solomon heard the news, a favorite of the nation had passed on, and there is rejoicing in the Heavens to go with it, as another soul makes the grade and enters into the eternal life, so many assume so, and why not.

It’s not often you meet with those who calmly encourage change and give opportunity to those who have a different voice, thereby enlightening people, especially at a time, when there was so much inner control asserted by  a very dominant organisation. Mr Gabriel Byrne was one such man, not the actor but the TV presenter.

Two hours of chat on a Friday night, the attention of the nation, no malice or spite, he opened the doors for many artists, and continued to do so all his life, he didn’t allow religious indoctrination to control the output of his show, and was always encouraging the well being and kindness, that so many try to encourage today. A man  head of his time, he allowed diversity to grow and hearts to widen, gave a platform for many to explain themselves, and wasn’t afraid to take a chance. Staid he was not.

Compare the fortunes of those organisations that attempt to control the lives and habits of others, they usually end in failure when their is no compassion in them, amen.

A man of God he will always be, Gay Byrne, rest in peace, amen.

Music Words Rhythm….R..

Lasting impressions, the music that sticks, it is more than memory, it’s emotions. The song is from a time past, you might have heard it as a child, it could have been the first time you felt a Spiritual presence, it is lots of things. Funny how the big ego stuff never makes the cut, too much of the artist too little of the talent, distractions. Solomon sighed, there are moments in your life, the first time you escaped out the back window, climbed down the roof, hopped onto the ground and hurried off to the gig, with friends of course, never with those unknown. Young, the rules don’t matter that much, same as your hormones, you hear the music, inside you start to blaze as the rhythm runs through, your naive ideal and young, haven’d suffered the fears of the elders; well they are more experienced, its’ not your fault or theirs, and nearly all the time you get home safe. There is no darkness, the world is yours, its a choice.

Then you age, the experiences build up, the cover up begins, there are problems at home, stuff you want to hide, it could be an addictive parent, it could be anything.

Solomon sighed, It’s wonderful to think that God is the same to all, amen, the eternal friend never deserts you, unlike those who want from you. Solomon was reliving a night many years before, not old enough to vote either, but the memory lived on, in a corner of his mind. Music with real Spirit has great power, I hope you have a good listen, amen.

One Day

The room is full of machines, she is lying on the bed, slowly in recovery from the shock, a shopping trip, she ends up at the hospital instead, the change in circumstance. Life changes so suddenly, she is unsure, strangers about her, a friend enters the room, she breathes a sigh of relief. There is a real conversation, what happened the friend says. She looks at the machines before continuing. I felt dizzy, and must have blacked out. Her friend sighs to herself, no slur in the speech, no stroke.  The two friends look at each other; they have been partners for a long time, doing everything together. What would I do if anything happened you she says, the visitor. One change and we are all affected, are we selfish to think this way. One day your buoyant and going places, the next day your a stone in the wall, someone else is leaning on you. Experience is like that. All the pebbles, the days that seemed nothing, now lying there, she is glad to have an ordinary day, any day free from the machines. If she walks away on her own steam she will be satisfied.

Solomon heard news of a friend who had a sudden health change. The circle of friends had lost a cog, and while it is temporary, it’s still a hole in the circle. The roles we play in life, the harmless seeming moments, when a regular stranger stops by and enjoys the company, respite from a crazy world. How the Spirit needs a rest from the drama’s of the world and the failure of many of the religious to understand the basics of Spiritual needs. One day they would hopefully understand, amen.

It happens, the sudden changes, the appeal to God Most High, the call. Do we hear the cry of the emigrant, or did we turn our eyes away when we saw the poverty on the street, embarrassed to look in case it was a disease you could catch. One day, the question will be on all our lips, could we have done more.
