Blue Moses, How Children Learn

Fifteen, sixteen whatever age, whatever the reason, we plan for it, but seemingly do nothing about it, repeated year after year, stress among children soar, nobody seems to notice, just calls for volunteers, as if the situation is expected to worsen, planning, any wisdom there, it does not appear so. Children more vulnerable to adult vices that ever before, copying what they see, ever seen a small one learn, how fast they cotton on, we all have, and what do we say, that’s a smart child, they are all smart, they don’t all learn at the same speed. As with wine, some get better as they get older, most in fact, provided they start right.  Now we have explanations for the child and the role of the adult and society etc etc, and the rights of children, etc etc.. and hosts of other things, etc etc, all relating to the rearing and well being of the child. A child just wants to be esteemed and loved, with a little encouragement they’ll work things out.

The changing world, active help from above, reform pleads Moses. Solomon was imagining what Moses would make of modernism, it didn’t need much imagination to work it out, reform or else.

Ministry of Sounds

Can’t sound it, sound, action to her, affects inner harmony, will I get up, she glances at her I-phone. To others it seems extravagant, to her a diagnostic tool, she’s a locum. Irritating, will I.  Her shift starts in, she dips her eyes on the phone, she is precise, a trainee surgeon, doing the steps. Her fingers are long and graceful. Where they have been; last evening, inside the chest of an elderly man, noise disappears, music again, continues reading. She lives in a three room, ignoring the bathroom; everyone has one of those, as vital as a healthy rectum.

Healing Music

Is life too much, are you tired, have you had enough, can’t relax, is the world coming in on you, has the actions of the school children hit your mind, what they do to help the situation, the gun violence, how the media commentates, watches, while these young people stand up, is it not ironic, to think that it is always those who are at the cliff face, who act first.

So you want to do it better, you are looking for ways to help, you want to do your bit, your not sure, your the believer who wants to stand up, yet you don’t want to be noticed, inhibited, fearful, a first timer perhaps, well, a little ease of mind and healing will help you on the right path.

I was in a class for basic computers, I can conceive any number of services, online, but I too have to be humble, so I went back to the beginning, and listened, without bias. During a few free minutes, I came across the number, 432, it’s a part of my life, so i went to check it out, and this is what I found. Music.

I played it low during the class, it was an informal group, but the two hours passed unnoticed, and it was all calm. By the way, I am a  perpetual student as stated above, a maturing

one I hope. If you or anyone needs calm and healing, this is a good start, amen.

The Sermon

Your coming to church, he hears his mother, he is at the play station. He press’s a button, he has already forgotten, he is winning the game, two up and ten minutes to go, about two minutes game time. Hurry up she shouts, “do I have to go up there!”, he winces. He is clever. The teacher says that playing the game is good for my education. She can only smile, she is a patient mum. Hurry she shouts, damn, it’s two one and a minute left. His head watches the door, he thinks he hears steps, don’t push he thinks, he gets up, just as she reaches the top of the stairs.

In the car, why are we going to church Ma!, she is rounding a bend, being careful. Why are we going to church he repeats. She lets him say it a third time. The church appears in their view, she looks at him with a huge smile and says:

so you will learn to listen dear!

Do you have a child with listening problems, i’d say everyone who has children would say yes… well, why not bring them to church a few times, amen.

Older Persons

Oh Golly, he looks at the desk, he has to get up, in his hand the calendar, how do i fit them in, it’s impossible, he wonders about it, the new year, looks at the calendar, can’t fit it in their either, when was the birthday, realizes he missed it cause he can’t even remember it, so long since they

celebrated one, oh what a chore, visiting the older ones at such a busy time of year. His Father sits by the bed, the air is sterile clean, smells hospital, instead, it’s one of those ultra clean hygiene marketed nursing homes for the very nearly fully aged, the last resting place before the big departure at they say, where you fletter your last days among the weakest, where you hear the late night screams of the tormented. His Father is close on eighty five, has been in the facility three years, two years more than expected. The financing of it, the mortgage on his sons house and the small pension he draws from his days in the public service.

It’s high maintenance, the running costs going up annually, demand for retiree spaces is huge, the elderly generation living longer, the rest of the generations only now realizing it, they will be elderly one day too, the cost of all these programs, re opening the old arguments for euthanasia.

Solomon was listening to the woes of an old friend. He didn’t want to install his Mother in an old folks home, her ability to move about severely curtailed by a degraded hip, that doctors can only treat with pain medicine. Older persons, they cost a lot to maintain, 2,000 a week, 1500 a week, depending.  Solomon listened to the figures, was shocked, it would be cheaper to stay in a good hotel. His own thoughts of retirement, whatever surprise the boss had for him, had worked for ever.

Pass in on

She screams and screams till she can’t scream at all, she is practicing for the roaring Olympics, winners get to pass on their DNA. The habits we acquire, each generation has it’s traits, it began with the time of Jesus, when he brought the Spirit into the world, I hear you he says, who needs laws, hasn’t religion divided us for too long, the wars that are fought to express it, our point of view. Why you can’t live without it, it’s very simple, do you want a world controlled by strongmen and those who crave

power, or do you want a world controlled by love, i.e., the way an average home used to be, a sanctuary.

Solomon heard the arguments, and the way the law of the jungle was rolled out to appease argument, same law and mindset, that helped end the life of many premature babies, they won’t be strong, they will be a burden to you, they won’t live fulfilled lives, the assortment of arguments, and the best of all, it’s your life after all, pass it on, it’s your right. Well, Solomon had the news many didn’t want to hear, The God of Heaven is real, and life is a gift, pass it on before you get distracted again.

There’s a line of coke on the table dude, hurry up, nice view he thought, who needs God!.

How does God speak to us? I haven’t seen a burning bush no star has followed me yet somehow I know I am being guided wherever I go. Sometimes God puts a desire in my heart, a quiet language other times there comes a knowing of what I must do opportunities come that I hadn’t […]
