Who Am I

The questions in the hearts of many, what is my life, who am I, why do I exist, what is my purpose. Seated in a cafe, outside of course, no borders exist, we all breathe the same air, enjoy the same sun, she twiddles her thumbs, she has come a long way, crossed many borders, had adventures you want to forget, had to sell herself, we all need to be fed, and a hungry child doesn’t ask where the dinner came from, the little eyes look up at you, for me they ask.

The time of the arrival of Christmas, a festival of praise, our way of giving thanks to God. She looks at the men and women passing by, their arms holding bags, it reminds her of the time, when all her possessions could be held in them, apart from the child she held to her heart. Who Am I, she keeps on asking.

An older man passes by, catches her eye, and smiles at her. Her fears are put at ease, he is not one who will betray me, she can see it. Who Am I.

Refugees, immigrants, women seeking shelters, children seeking example, Solomon was reminding himself of past times, the race to buy the last gift, wondering what they might think of him, did he spend enough. Years later, he sits with two codgers, he having escaped death in this life by divine intent, no longer worried what others thought of Him, think about it, the One who made life real for us all. Who Am I, a child of God he said as he passed her by.

Be Mindful

How is listening to you, perhaps your grand parents are watching you now, wondering if you have learned anything, hoping you don’t repeat their mistakes. Imagine it, those that you thought were gone,. watching you in silence, their Spirits wondering, perhaps hoping you turn to good ways, and actually help them, as the old prophets said, praying for the dead is worth doing. As God is the God of the living, it’s wisdom to remind yourself who is watching you. No need to blush, everything has been seen, even when you pick your nose, it’s clear cut. We all use the bathroom!.

Solomon was reading about the education on intimate relationships, and how those teaching it, had reduced it to a biological test, so the young students say, with no input as to the emotional issues, and what they, how, how you react etc. With society focused on getting everyone into the bed; well, it’s everywhere you look, it’s no surprise those who are young, find it confusing, how their hormones are dealt with. Jesus focused on compassion, he didn’t want to hear about your bed room details, our imaginations do that for us. So there are some who are outraged by the behavior of certain folks, but that’s ignoring the real issue; how come we create a society that is so focused on the lower regions, it’s not that the need to get together is ever going to disappear, unless of course, we turn ourselves into machines, that perform according to a script, well?

Jesus encouraged help and healing, not revenge and getting even.

Quote

Excellence Reporter: Rinpoche, what is the meaning of life? Or the purpose of life if you will? Khensur Rinpoche: Most all of us fall into the trap of believing, at one point or another, that amassing wealth, fame, power, friendships, and even happiness itself is the purpose of life. Of course, these things can, and […]

We are all refugees

Treat us well, nothing gracious, just be gentle, don’t look down on me, so I am a refugee, tired and tortured, have you any idea, what a welcome means, a wide eyed smile, not the stare of suspicion, had enough of those, in my shoes you have a different view, pushed about, moved on, unwanted, voiceless, those who speak up for us, ready, the cameras, the sixty seconds of hope, someone might care about us, those protests, don’t know where to turn, just want to put the head down, can’t return, what is there left, we put faith in it, trusted above, go and find, maybe that is the welcome, the real presence of God, not the words, maybe we are walking faith, ever think of that, hardly, you remind me of my family, all you do is count the cost, isn’t everyone doing it, ignoring the blessings, what a possibility, what economist can value that, Solomon sighed, he understood the plight of the refugee, there had been many exodus’s over time, he thought of the actions of certain leaders, how their actions lifted, did the impossible, and those not so good at leading, but using the word of God, he wondered at their fate, in a time of change, the outcomes weren’t too hard to figure out, if you know what I Mean? History and the exodus were we being tested.

So many parallels, as if history had been compressed in a few lives, the movements,

Another Investigation

How many lawyers do you need to carry out one investigation; Well, you need a lawyer to agree what they are going to get paid, another to ensure they get paid, another lawyer in case there is a dispute about fees, another lawyer to oversee that the lawyers are actually acting legally, and lots of coffee machines, so all the lawyers have enough caffeine in them, to keep them awake, Oh, I forgot, you need a lawyer to proof read everything, and a lawyer to set a timetable for the completion of the investigation. Yes, it requires a lot of lawyers to conduct a reasonable investigation, as for the investigation itself, well, lets hope there will be a second investigation in order to prove that the first investigation was conducted correctly, we don’t want to have any doubts, do we.

Solomon sighed, Jesus said it simple all those years ago; The Kingdom of God is inside you, it’s a question of creating the space, no lawyers required to explain that.

First Impressions

The second you pause, stop, the eyes open wide, the memory is born, you didn’t race past on the way to your next appointment, you stalled, you might not plan it, you had to stop, a second look, how the first impression is real every time. Solomon recalled the army of good souls, out there today, trying to impose their truth rather watching who the audience was, you don’t need to lecture, you just need to live it if you believe it, deeds.

A boy pulls a box on wheels, a wooden box with round bits stolen from a supermarket trolley, the boy wasn’t going anywhere, he was going around in circles, and his two pals were chasing after him. Solomon watched from the comfort of the upmarket saloon, a car another drove. The drop was a quick stop, a five minute call, the neighborhood wasn’t friendly, no jewelers or anything like that, maybe a rehab center, as close as it gets to humanity. How important was that first impression, how important is every act of kindness, they add up.

In the modern world we tend to leave caring to charity workers, by passing the inner soul, as if we are management level, and leave the hands on stuff to others. The inner soul is God’s refuge inside, and it needs to be exercised, it does not live on good intentions, you have to get involved. As time passes, the need for a more emotional world is becoming so obvious; without souls that care, what is left, not a whole lot.

Solomon recalled that little boy and his pals, who appeared around the corner, pulling their imaginary car, with a piece of string that someone discarded. First impression, how they fared after that, the three young friends, who knows, but they made an impression on Solomon and his heart process, amen.

Addict Central

Darn, the buzzer goes, the alarm clock buzzes, who could be at the door, she clambers out of bed, bumps into the chair, what time is it, she wipes her eyes, clearing, the buzzer goes again, I’m coming she shouts, she knows the voice; frantic words are muttered outside, you have a ten o’clock and you are behind, she fumbles with the lock. The door opens, she retreats to the kitchen, the kettle is set to work, her assistant is done up to the nines, darn, she looks better than me. She opens the press, where are the pain killers, she has a brain rush, you need to order more of these, she holds up the noisy container, two or three loose tablets left. Then she thinks to herself, the sleepers, they are getting low too

, and there could be an emergency, she dismisses the thought, the time she dropped the container on the bathroom floor, and how sticky they were when she tried to pick them up. What about the anxiety stuff she thinks. Her assistant says nothing for a few minutes, she has been through it before, addict central.
