The Book of Numbers

The little black book, the names and numbers, your codex for life, those you want contact with, then you have the secret book, the one with details of all that is wrong, you roll the finger on the contact list, what can they do for you, who will you contact today, bored or a random selection, the real conversations you have, the frothing mouth as you think there is going to be something in it for you. It’s amazing what used to get our juices flowing, the drama, the rubber necking, did someone die in that accident, did he really have all that money, thinking numbers, but really only wishing they were yours. Human nature sighed solomon.

A mute point, Solomon was reading the book of numbers, and every time he looked, he reads the list, the items taken along for the journey, the responsibility of each clan, where they were to stand in the procession of the lords presence and tent, every dot measured, even how you deal with family issues, in a world dedicated to the Lord your God, and the promise of proctection and care for those who were considered good guardians of the Lords Earth.  why was there such detail recorded, surely it wasn’t to amuse us, it had to be a method of teaching us. So here we are, thousands of years later, at a time when much of the old scriptures is coming to pass. Imagine your name in the book of the living, the promise of eternity, then your name in book of the dead, and the promise of eternal destruction. It’s wise to be mindful in these times, amen.

Solomon encountered the Spirit, the One God Sends, and found he had been endowed with a few gifts, and the challenge was, how do you use them; do you seek gain for yourself or do you cast your hopes wide and try to include others, the choice. it’s as simple as that. Do you do what the rebellious israelites did at the time of Moses; Moses goes away to worship and talk with the Lord, meanwhile a few loud mouths encourage the Israelites to worship and offer sacrifices to Demons, out of a feeling of security, maybe Moses is not coming back. Imagine Moses, full of the light, happy, got the approval he sought, and proctection for his, the Lords people, imagine the plans he had in mind, happy and full of joy, same as the feeling you might have if you won a new car, and there it sits in the drive, you smile, the smell of the new leather seats, what a joy. Then the local thug next door arrives and produces a sledge hammer, and attempts to demolish the car, your Joy. Well, There is Moses, open your eyes, he spots them from afar, gets closer, has a panic attack, what are they doing, worshipping Gold, an idol, what have they done, and 23,000 dropped dead in the desert, as Moses anger was felt by the lord. As Jesus would say, listen fast if you have ears and you want a share in the world to come, amen.

The Good Samaritans

Faith, political party , ethnic group, skin color, age, what does it matter what you pray if your deeds contradict what you plead, do you think it’s words alone, Solomon was talking with a pal, going on a journey, he exchanged a few ideas, the anxieties of parents was discussed, as when a child becomes an adult, when a son or daughter leaves the home for college. Does a bird worry when he leaves the nest, is there a big anxiety on the part of the parent birds, do they fret about what they heard, the anxieties of others, well, why should it matter you say, a girl on a journey, the fear of those waiting for her to return, the initial anxieties, then the relaxation, when it turns out all right, as it mostly does. what did we worry for. The parents want to hear the story of the kind stranger who gave her the right directions, the landlord who provided a clean living arrangement, the thoughtful shop keeper who welcomes her, good reference points. Every day, regardless of what you claim, it’s how you deal with the simple stuff usually that identifies you. Every day we get a chance to be a good Samaritan, and it costs nothing. As we add to the good list, we inspire that Spirit in others, it’s really that easy, to be a good Samaritan. AS Jesus says, his words being living words, we help everyone when we raise the Spirit in others. amen

Understanding Compassion

You can’t look at me that way, you can’t come into the house and treat me like a slave, where did you learn such things. Another scene, they enter the club, the girls are toe rags, flash the cash, do what you like, you can get to humiliate them, they are so high, what does it matter, another man’s daughter. The thought never hits you, just legs and a bush, and time to get excited, someones daughter, what planet are you on.

He twists in the bed, the thoughts run around his head, getting older, he can sense the future, what if, the big question on the minds of many, is their really a Messiah and a God, he is soaked in sweat, what the blazes are you thinking Roy, this is insane he says, talking himself through his personal nightmare. Who can say no to God, well, many have said no to good, he twists in the bed. They sleep in separate beds, have been a long time. I loved her then, then, well, I do love her now, he is not sure, what was he hiding from all his life. She loved him anyway, and if he wasn’t busy in the passion department he was always a great father. She never told him, she realized his quirky ways, fell in love with them, the sexual world was never her thrill, she was always a mother in the making, and compassion is her way, way she treats the world.

Solomon wondered how many folks were having the what if moment, the signs were all pointing up, and the old guard were being swept aside, a new understanding was gaining a hold, and the plans of the extremists were about to implode. A man in power wore all the faults of the human race, went through the entire fault spectrum, warts and all, and the opposition hadn’t laid a punch on him, seemed as if he was holding up the proverbial mirror. Solomon smiled, who could have wrote the script, a pope from the edge of the world, Islamic leaders driving change, and a very open society in the Irish republic, a far cry from the closed days of doom and gloom that used to be preached, and the women who left many shores in order to find freedom.

Understanding Compassion was a topic on the minds of many. The light of divine intervention was making it clear; we are tenants in someone else’s vineyard.

Pass On The Blessings

Well, it’s a simple as it was said all those years ago, and it’s seen in the faces of those who age happily, and have a smile on them while they are passing. There is a light inside them, just as said by Jesus, let the light shine, it’s the power to heal and do so many other things. It’s that easy. We create space inside, the good stuff finds rest, the opposite to that the material wants, consumption, it’s as simple as that. No surprise when they call that wasting disease consumption, smile, the blessings are being passed on, amen. You just have to believe it, really that is.

Dancing Girl

What is the purpose of my life, the dancing queen is tired, the rehearsals are tedious, getting ready for another show, life is getting her down, her ankle hurts and the chorus of dancers are out of rhythm, is it her calm, she is stressed, is it for the money, or is there a greater purpose, why am I doing this, it’s a question all the great artists ask themselves, am I relevant anymore.

She shouts stop, they all become statues, what is wrong, they are afraid to look her in the eye, is that the reaction you wants she says to herself, is it because I’m a tyrant, a bully in charge, or am I loosing my self. Do I need a new direction, something fresh to encourage me along. They look at her, seeking guidance, she could be having a breakdown, perhaps I AM DOING TOO MUCH, and need to take a rest, she does not think it, it’s what is on their mind.

Solomon sighed, many lives suffer the burn out, and when they don’t take a seat, they end up getting into all sorts of ugly stuff. He has seen it happen to those who over work, a good nights sleep without medication, a miracle for some, he smiles, the duvet and the pillow has always been his friend. He learned young, to have energy and verve, you need to pace yourself, rest in between the moments and you will be grand. Don’t let the mind fool you, there are demons who will tell you what you want to hear. Even the Greatest Spiritual leader of all time, teacher, Jesus, had to get away from the disciples regularly, the body needs rest and the minds needs to put down all it has inside it.

Solomon learned the lesson a long time ago, a close friend, the afternoon rest, the energy that seemed everlasting to well into the eighties, all because she knew how to rest. In the busy world, so many had to go full throttle, afraid of loosing their position, living in fear, while in positions of authority even. The Spirit needs rest, and space to regroup, and in a busy world, that was becoming more difficult. Put it in words he smiled, and it will become a tool for someone else, amen. Turn the extremists into babbling fools Dear Father, and when they try to make life difficult for your people, remind them, the love is in charge, amen.

Harry the Potter

Amo, what does He mean when he uses words such as potter, and stuff, it’s rather confusing, the request of a small child. Amo drifts back to his school days, he is having a recall while lying in bed in his care home. The thoughts on his mind when he faces the divine one, it’s like preparing for an exam, and Amo has high expectations.. A teacher all his life. He tries to remember the answer he gave that day. The child had one of the harry potter books in his hands, was there a connection he could make.

Amo thinks, don’t pretend if you don’t know the answer, and if it’s an educated guess admit it. Amo is tired of the so called global experts, and their expert opinions, it hasn’t worked, caused huge global problems, these so called expert opinions. A bit like Brexit and the United Kingdom, a huge bonus for every country but the United Kingdom, so much for expert opinion.

The potter fashions the clay, creates the vessel that holds liquids or foods, enables us to sit down and eat together. Without a vessel to hold water, think how difficult it would be. The Child nods, easy to understand that. So when it goes wrong sighs Amo, what does the potter do, say when it begins to leak. The child nods, that’s easy the little boy says. He makes a new one. Amo’s face widens into a grin, a wise little vessel this one is. Amo continues.

The clay can be refashioned too, when it gets out of shape he says and needs to be adjusted. You mean when it’s been made asks the Child. Amo sighs, God does not make mistakes, he wants to get it right. How about this he says smiling. The times when you know you done wrong and allow someone else to take the blame, how do you feel about it after, The child sighs, tears in it’s eyes, you feel bad, and you try to avoid them, don’t you, he says.

Amo is trying to connect the thinking of the Child to wisdom, there is no one solution. In his mind he recalls the teaching of Jesus, the faults that are passed on when we can’t forgive, and the resentment it causes later, and the harm passed on.  That would be one reason for refashioning the clay, apart from the destruction of the message it was supposed to carry… One way of putting it, enough for one day he sighs, the class is over, he is back in his bed in the care home, but smiles at the memory of long ago, seeds well sown, he’ll pass that test all right.

Children’s Day

Mother’s day, women’s day, father’s day, international this day, international that,. this the other, postcards, preparations, the party afterwards, the novelties, the protests, the speakers, the conference, the global speeches, what a load of what, you ask?

The old musketeers, this is old France, the sun king, the belief in the wonders of God, the upstairs and downstairs attitude, those that exceeded their power, loosing their heads, in every way imaginable, you can’t abuse power and get away with it, have all the tyranny you want, but you are not going to get away with it, there are those who will ensure that, there are those who know what is divine.

Solomon sighed, he saw the attitude on the faces, the lives that jumped forward to another time, saw the breakdown in society, the denial of children, of a healthy living world, then passing on the news to their counterparts of old, the car exchanged for a horse, the law replaced by a sword. This is worth fighting for they say. The roots of our problem sown in the past.

Children’s day, not a roll out of all the great advantages that we fill our selves with, feel good is great, they felt the same way on the Titanic, we are all going on a holiday. All the stress that is created, the effort to focus on the lower regions, its’ very pleasurable they say, but there is time, let us grow up first.

What would they think, those who went before us, not the closed minded, but those who were enlightened, and there are many Spirits, watching our progress, even today, wondering what we are going to do next. Are we going to ruin it for everyone, or do something good. Thoughts for a Monday.
