The epic resistance so many ordinary put up to help end the totalitarian regime, world war two, the locals left to themselves,some saw and acted,others turn away, then compare it to the bravery of the horse warriors who with sword in arm, went into the bullets of the modern army, world war one, the men who went over the top,to almost certain death.
