Inside Spirit

Mother comes in the door, Tracey  was out late the night before, dad is at work, and ma has a dinner to make. In the local department store, Ma got a bargain of a dress, something to impress her figure with. She is all smiles inside, feeling good, her Spirit is on the up, Tracey sneaks in the door, slides past Mum, hoping to be unnoticed, you says Mum, Tracey acts all innocent, Me she says, Mum gives her the eye, your not seeing that fellow again, Tracey waits for the interrogation to begin but there is none, the Spirit inside her Mum, is up, and no amount of small distractions is going to unhinge her. She is her daughters father, will do it her way anyway; sometimes you have to let go.

Years pass, Mum is old, Dad has moved on, now Tracey is looking after her mum; she remembers the compassion of her mother, how gentle she was with her, how she said her few words when necessary, and then let it go; it wasn’t a hammer she held every time there was a row, you don’t bring the wrongs of the past with you, you bring the lessons learned.

For over 2,000 years, a huge amount of Souls were trying to work out the meaning of Jesus, and instead of trying to learn the lesson, they spent most of their time trying to understand the man. We are divine, what does it mean, does it mean we carry baggage everywhere, loading ourselves with all that is wrong; that’s what the dark Spirit encourages. The Inside Spirit, the one you carry inside, is made up of life experiences, habits passed on, gifts from the Spirit, and what are we supposed to do about it you ask?, Solomon sighed, it’s the same as a car on a journey, you pass some one who needs a lift, but if you are already full, how can you help anyone. Space, love looks out, fear looks in, amen.
