The Trouble

The meeting is being held in a very upmarket hotel, it’s a special, well, it’s special cause the company is confronting the public, all good so far, every question answered, then the door opens, there is a clatter as the door closes hard, thought they got rid of me he thought, they sent him to the wrong location, cause he was trouble. Alcohol and responsibility is connected, it’s even the law in certain places, and good reason too, in order to ease the trouble.

Thought you got rid of me he says reaching for the microphone, the room falls silent, what is he going to say next. Sitting alone one night, watching the TV, he was mesmerized by the growing number of gambling sites aimed at single women ,this wasn’t gaming aimed at those who like to gamble just, they were aimed at lonely single women home alone at night, rather than reach for the booze, why not play the slots instead, and like the secret drinker, no one will ever find out.

The pink dollar is aimed at the pink culture, the baby market is aimed at the parents to be, but aiming a destructive activity at women, single women too, was pushing the boat a bit too far. If the heroin dealer aimed his product at the vulnerable, well, what would the response be. Mr Trouble makes his point.

All about me….

there is nothing more important than me, my pain my discomfort my career my health, so why should i care about you, this life is all about me. Every morning the mirror, she counts the grey hairs, only twenty and going grey already, must change my shampoo.

It gets me going, makes me want to get out of bed, how else would i cope without it, it’s what i need, the first drink, the first pill, the first peak at the likes and dislikes board. heard it say, so and so had 50,000 followers, another had half a million, another had over a million, followers, the new term for friendship some used. Well, did any of them know each other, no.

Solomon recalled the old words, spoken by Jesus, they didn’t know me, but knew of me. It was one way of saying it, having eyes that see but see nothing at all, only me.

Can’t Concentrate today

having difficulties in school, doesn’t respond when spoken to, sits alone during break time, is quick to start a row, what is gone wrong she asks, the school report is another nail in her coffin, she is overloaded, hasn’t the time she needs to spend with her child, the doctor prescribes medication, it’s mood altering, should calm him down a little, and it’s safe for children she asks, the doctor nods, holds up the brochure, has been used safely in thousands of cases, goodbye.

She is out of bed, her medication the first thing on her mind, determined to get better, there is a lot at stake, her career, the well being of the family, and herself. better she feels, is it placebo, it couldn’t work that fast, she’s just popped one, in reality it will take twenty minutes before it hits her system. Can you get me any sleepers i’ll trade you some anti depressants, what are they like he asks, he wants them to come down from the heroin he is on.

A busy night a big presentation, there will be over a 100 colleagues watching his every move, better take one of her pills, he’s seen how calm they make her. he slips two from the blister pack, he will take a half one now and the other half an hour before he goes on, nice and relaxed. I didn’t know what i was doing, i hit him once then twice, i knew if he got up he was going to kill me, there was a lot of blood and the pictures were leaked to the press.

The gathering claps, great presentation chuck, he nods, is more relieved than anything else, can feel the spare tablet in his pocket, didn’t have to take the second one. I wasn’t in my right mind it was the medication, that’s what i’m saying. A doctor rushes in from the text room, the patients are on a line of new medication, there has been really exciting results, there is a fortune at stake, if what the patient told her is correct, it made me strong down there he smiles.

The shares go through the roof, do you know what this means, no more slow downs in the bedroom, can you believe it, how come nobody discovered this before, high fives every where, the doctor who made the discovery is soon on the board. You mean there is a side affect we didn’t know about, that is good for the bottom line. She pops her pills, the shot gun is on the back seat, she is having weird dreams, see’s things that no one will ever believe.

she walks from the canteen back to her cell, she smiles and nods strolls slowly, can’t believe where she is, what am i doing here, she is lucky they didn’t execute her, because she was a woman and it was her first offence, life without parole was her final sentence. You mean i have to take these everyday, she remembers her sisters friend. he had issues, social issues, had been unable to express himself, so did what a child did, acted up in a way that would attract attention, i need help, how can you make an appeal if you don’t understand yourself.

How many sighed Solomon, how many, addicted unintentionally and legally, why be surprised, didn’t they put the soldiers sent to Vietnam on medication, in order to get them to fight, well, who can concentrate on that!

Listen!

I can teach you how to heal, you can make your friends well, you will be able to banish demons, you will be able to transform your neighborhood, you will live for ever, and your children will be successful, you only have to folly my ways, it’s that simple, just respect the Father and follow my ways, it’s that simple, well, what are you waiting for, it’s your inheritance. What an offer to make, imagine it, just to think and act it in love. 2,000 odd years later, it seems a great offer, and it’s free, you just have to love, amen.

Solomon was reflecting on the past events, the false promises made by so many seeking power, and was comparing it with the offer of eternity, it was a no brainer, listen!

He’s Home

the wait was worth it, she was in the company of her father again, the sadness forgotten, the healing began. The sunshine arrives, and the smiles with it, almost magic, well it was, but sometimes we take it for granted, the way real friendship is. Solomon was reflecting on the events, the sense of wonder, the hope is real not imaginary. It was the child he sighed, the heart that is restless till the news arrives, your father is home, someone to stand up for you. The void in the hearts of so many, the vacuum that is waiting to be filled, the dealers and their syringes, the online trolls and their hatred of all that is good, imagine being a lone parent child, always waiting, imagine them as being connected to God, as they are, their calls seen as prayers, well i did give them the talent He says, what have they done. I’m a good child, i do what i am told and i clean up, i help, i do all the stuff, so where are you, your not home.

There were many in situations of influence who needed to be wary, at last. The signs from above, indicators of the existence of divine influence, it was just a question of heart and prayer. the door opens, the child lifts up, i can’t believe, the smile is huge, that’s the way it should be, amen. when they start making excuses, it’s time to close the ears.

Sharing

Does that sound too much, having to share, imagine it, the apostles and Jesus discussing the value of sharing, well, why do you want to keep it when you have to give it away anyway, and when you get old, they will watch to see how your doing, wondering when they will get their share, meanwhile you will worry about who you left out, while the lawyer reminds you of the tax shelters available while you worry more, about the tax consequence of giving this person that and that person that, well, i never liked her anyway, just make it easy on yourself says Jesus, share while it’s good not while your weak, your father in heaven knows what you do, and you might even be helping an angel, and the consequences of that, your recorded in the annals of the good. And you wont have to worry about inheritance tax or leaving others out, thereby getting rid of all those resentments. I can see saint peter shaking his head, while he calls the apostles over, he’s right you know. Sharing makes everything better, amen. Grumpy old men nod their heads, he’s always right, amen. And when you need help, well, you have it too!.

Where do their ideas come from?

His fingers are tight on the controls, he’s fidgeting with his fingers, it’s getting intense, the bad guy has been spotted on screen, he twists the hand held device, misses the object, his character dies, he loses, begins to cry, tosses the gadget across the room, gives his granny who is minding him an awful fright, where do the ideas come from. She waits till he goes to the bathroom, examines the box, over eighteens only, violent scenes, unsuitable for children under the age, he re enters the room, is a little calmer. She wants to raise the idea with his mother, but is afraid to open her mouth, they might send her away, well, that’s what they do these days when the elderly interfere, well, she’s getting doddery they say.

The twist before the mirror, she pouts, is my ass big in that, her friend just laughs, they are both under ten, but they are getting in on the act, their mothers call it confidence, it’s what the experts say, a good impression of one self is so important, what do the hungry children think of that, impressions. The response from mother, their confidence they say, we can’t do anything to undermine it. It’s the repeat dose, so repeated, everyone has the exact opinion, leaving no doubts, giving comfort to all and sundry, at least your getting that bit right, while they reach for their tranquilizing medication, only three left, must get a prescription for the weekend, suppose it’s the same as the junkie, just a little neater and more respectable, the prescriber wore a suit and had credentials on the wall, while the other dealer, well, in the dark light it was hard to read his face, where do they get their ideas from.

Solomon sighed, they said the same in Rome all those years ago, this God thing is just another of their helpless idols, look what he has done for them, filled them with hope, nothing more. History proved otherwise, but at least we have the remains of the old empire, reminders of their follies, imagine it, they had it all once, now they have nothing.
